Experience Description

I was a passenger in a small car. The driver was travelling too fast on an icy street. She took her eyes off the road to reach for something. She veered left and struck a parked car almost head on. I didn't have a seat belt on. If it wasn't for the roof of the car, I would have gone all the way, or most of the way, through it. I tried to bring my hands up in front of my face and closed my eyes as my body was thrown forward.

I saw events pass quickly, from when I was younger. Then it went dark.

The next thing I remember is that I was sitting in the grass about 10 to 20 feet behind the car. I was spitting up glass and chipped teeth. The driver came to get me up and we proceeded to a house with its porch light on. The wife answered the door and had us follow her to the kitchen. As we walked, I passed a floor length mirror and did not know who I was looking at in the mirror. The husband was in the kitchen. The ambulance showed up not long afterwards. At the emergency room, The doctor pulled 1 to 2 dozen glass slivers from my face which covered a 'V' shaped area from my hair line to my chin. He missed getting a sliver that would work its way out a few years later.
