Experience Description

I was downtown Denver and came across a dude who thought I stole his skateboard. I told him I just got into Denver. He still kept accusing me of stealing his skateboard. I was homeless at the time, so I got up and he was walking away. I started to run away and he started chasing after me in downtown Denver. As we were running, he got ahold of my shirt and ripped it off of me. I ended up losing my backpack with all my stuff in it. We ran through alley-way. Then we were outside of a hotel. I was yelling, 'Help! Help! Somebody help! while the dude just kept throwing punches. A black dude came up and tried to intervene, saying 'Hey! Stop! Get off of him!' Then my attacker pulled out a knife. I was thinking, 'Oh shoot! I'm going to die right here!' I was somehow able to hit him in the head, which distracted him briefly. He then went full crazy on me and I got knocked out when my head hit the ground.

I saw a very bright light almost like at the end of a tunnel. It made me so warm and happy. I could just the see clouds and then I heard voices in the background.

I was blacked out for maybe a good 20 minutes. I fully woke up at around 5 in the morning in the hospital with IVs in my body. At the time, I didn't know what they were start so I was pulling them out. They let me go. I left the hospital and tried to understrand what happened the night before. I felt so alive and like I had a better purpose in life. The experience was like a wake-up call.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

The experience included: Out of body experience

Did you feel separated from your body? Yes I heard paramedics, ambulances, then it was a bitter silence. I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. Yes. I felt like I was out of my body.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? When I blacked out and woke up in a hospital bed.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning. It was like it never happened.

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. Before this experience, everything felt dull and bland. I didn't have a purpose in life and then I ended up having this NDE. It will completely opened up my eyes to the world and what actually lies around in it.

The experience included: Passing into or through a tunnel

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Yes It was completely black and then there was a very bright light like brighter than I've ever seen. It was just bright.

Did you see any beings in your experience? I sensed their presence

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? No

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an Unearthly light? Yes It was a tunnel with a bright light.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm. I saw a bright light with a gate and clouds.

The experience included: Strong emotional tone

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I was cold, warm, very happy, it was dark but there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you have a feeling of joy? Incredible joy

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? Everything about the universe. It opened my eyes to things other people would take for granted.

Did scenes from the future come to you? Scenes from my personal future. I left all my worries and fears back on earth

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience. I believe there is a Heaven and hell. I saw Heaven for a slight second.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes I know that I was out of this world for a godly purpose.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes Bright tunnel with clouds and a gate.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes It was complete Darkness, but there was a tunnel with a light. I heard a voice but couldn't make it out.

I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience. It was cold and dark. There was a very bright light and I felt unending love and joy.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real. I needed to open up my eyes.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real. It is very real.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes Yes I know that God is near and heals anyone.
