Experience Description I was in college at the time and went to a party with a guy. After the party was over, he drove a couple of his friends and myself home around 2 am in the morning. Unfortunately, on the way home, he decided to start drag racing down a dark backroad. I don't know why none of us told him to stop driving recklessly. I remember seeing the speedometer said 109 miles an hour. Then I looked at the road in front of us and saw a stop sign with woods behind it. After that, I was knocked unconscious for a few minutes. During this time, I envisioned that we'd pulled over beside the road and everyone was standing around the car. I left the group and went into the woods alone. The further I got into the woods, I more felt deceased family members around me. I couldn't physically see them, but I could feel the individual presence of each of them around me. After I reached a point in the woods where I was almost in complete darkness, I realized what was happening. I was not scared. There was a comforting feeling that my family was with me, but I knew that it wasn't yet my time. I looked back towards the street and started walking back towards the dim light on the street. When I opened the passenger car door, I was back in my body at the bottom of a 30-foot, wooded embankment. I was covered in my own blood and was able to think clearly regardless of my injuries and the experience I'd just had. The car was turned on the passenger side with my window broken on the forest floor. The others in the car were able to get out as well, but everyone except for me had a brain injury and with blood coming out of their ears. Everyone was trying to get out of the car when I came to consciousness, and I ended up being the last one out. I could not feel pain because of all the adrenaline, so I grabbed my purse and was helped out of the driver's side window. Everyone started running up towards the road out of the embankment. When I went to do this, I noticed that my body was unable to run and started to feel pain. I fell to my knees and started crying towards the road. I realized that I'd almost died and that the possibility of death was still on the table as my body was failing to function properly. I crawled to the street where the police and other drivers had stopped to help.
