Experience Description

I was shot in the head with a .30 caliber rifle round. The bullet hit a piece of metal next to me before hitting me in the face with many fragments. I know I was knocked back from the table I was sitting at. I was also knocked out.

I remember seeing myself from above my body. I watched a bunch of people kneeling around me who were trying to stop the bleeding. I didn't know what happened. I remember thinking, 'Am I dead? Did I just get killed? What happened?' The weird thing is that I saw everything in black and white. There was no pain. I was just confused about being killed and what had happened. I was worried about my wife and kid.

Soon after that, I was in my body looking up at the sky. People were putting towels all over my face to stop the bleeding. At the hospital, they found around 50 metal fragments in my face and skull. The metal worked out of my body over the years. I was fine after a few weeks. I have never really talked about it.
