Experience Description

On Tuesday, October 26, 2010, and I had a throat infection. I was taking antibiotics that were not working. I was also taking medication for racing thoughts or psychosis. My doctor gave me some new antibiotics that she told me were in the same drug group as the antibiotics I had already been taking. It turns out that when mixed with my psychosis medication, it causes respiratory failure. She didn't check for contraindications, but I trusted her. I went home and took the antibiotics around 11 am, and then again in the late afternoon around 5 pm. I took my psychosis medication, and the last time I saw the clock, it was 10:30 pm.

Suddenly my mind began to race. I saw all these images as they went through my mind, and I passed out. The next thing I remember was waking up and seeing the clock; it was 3 am. I knew I had racing thoughts as I passed out, and when I woke, I still had them but much slower. So, I took more of my psychosis medication.

In the morning, I remembered that I had passed out, so I took the antibiotics back to the pharmacist and told them what had happened. I think they thought I was crazy, so I went home and never took them again.

On the Friday, October 29th around mid-morning, I was typing on my laptop and then I remembered that I was out of my body during the time I was passed out. I had no thoughts at all. I had no recollection of ever being in my life, my body, my name, my parents. I no memory whatsoever. I could feel my life force buzzing, so I was still in existence but with no body. I saw a warm, cozy light behind a sheer screen, like a warm fire that beckoned to me and pulled me towards it.

I felt so happy and so at peace. Then I felt a very strong energy come in from my left side, and it wrapped itself around me a billion times in one second. I felt so loved in a way I had never known. I was loved and loved and loved. I was so peaceful and joyful; it was wonderful. But even after all these years, I cannot verbally describe this love, and I am a published author. I write for a living, and I cannot find the words to describe this love. I think and feel it was God.

I was out of my body for about ten seconds, and since that day of recollection, I have stopped seeking love from other humans because this was not a human love. It was boundless and endless and asked for nothing from me. I can compare it to my cat, who wakes me up in the morning by rubbing his nose on my face and following me down the pathway when I go to check the mailbox. He then escorts me back up the path to make sure I'm safe, and I'm pretty sure he has been sent to me by God or a deceased relative. He loves me just because, and I love him like that too. That's the love I felt; it was the most beautiful feeling I have ever known.
