Experience Description

I can remember being in agonizing pain, which was heightened every time my mother would try to cool down my body. She was using a kitchen towel filled with ice. I remember lying there on the sofa in a pool of sweat, scared, in pain and ringing in my ears; looking up at my mother and seeing the fear in her face. She was frantically trying to lower my body temperature.

Then, there was silence. The ringing stopped, the pain was gone and I, from a higher elevation, was watching my mother kneeling beside the sofa, shaking me. This lasted for what seemed a matter of seconds and the noises and pains returned.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Illness Other: At the time, most of my body was covered with a bright red rash and high fever. The doctor’s diagnosis was Scarlet Fever.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? For a 5 year old, I was completely aware of what had just happened. I didn't understand how or why I knew what had happened.

We had just moved in and i had no prior religeous training.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience I do not remember events from that time. I have a few pictures in my mind from that era but this is the only event that i recall

Uncertain I have always been very calm when something or someone is in grave danger. I've always had a sixth sense that allows me to envision outcomes that could hurt someone and stop it before it happens.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes Family and close friends only. The people of this world can’t dislodge themselves from their own tiny universe to comprehend the magnitude of the one we live within.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real Out of the mouths of drunks and babes. I was there when it happened and I've been here ever since.
