Experience Description

I had a massive heart attack on 04/30/2018 while driving my car. On 05/04/2018 I had open heart surgery to bypass three of my arteries that were 99% clogged.

While in recovery and unconscious, I remember very vividly being in a room that felt like it was very bright. The energy was very positive all around me. While in this room, it felt like the most comfortable and biggest bed I have ever laid in before. I also heard 5 voices in the room with me. I couldn't see their faces, I could only feel and hear their presence. They were speaking in a language I couldn't understand. It wasn't English or any other language that is spoken on earth. I was resting so comfortably and I felt so safe. I didn't want to leave nor did I want those beings around me to leave. It almost was as if I was like a baby in a loving mother's arms, so comfortable and at peace. Then I heard a voice. But this time it was in English and I understood what he was saying. The voice was very powerful in tone, stern with instructions, yet compassionate in delivery. I remember he said, 'Ok Chad, it is time for you to go now. It is time for you to wake.' I remember responding, 'Why are you waking me? I am not ready to go. I don't want to go back!' After I said that, it was like a light switch came on and I opened my eyes. I was in a hospital room with tubes coming out of my mouth. There were nurses and machines all around me.

Since my life-changing event, I have been blessed not to have suffered any permanent damage to my heart from the heart attack. I weighed 325lbs and now I weigh 222lbs - I lost 105 lbs since surgery. My family and I were blessed not to receive a medical bill from the life-changing event either. Our operation and hospital stay was covered by emergency medical insurance provided by the government, because I had no medical insurance.

I use the words our and we to describe the life changing event because it affected my entire family. I have a 17 year old and 8 year old son and a 4 year old daughter to live for. Of course, none of this would be possible without GOD and my loving wife by my side.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes. Heart attack Life threatening event, but not clinical death. I was in my recovery room after my open heart surgery to by pass three of my lower left arteries that were 99% clogged. I had a breathing tube to assist with my breathing.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

Did you feel separated from your body? No. I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. It was so vivid and real. It was the only thing I remember from my life changing event.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? While I was in my recovery room.

Were your thoughts speeded up? No

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning. I felt at peace.

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I couldn't see anything. I could only feel the overwhelming sensation of peace and tranquility in the room. The energy was so positive. I could feel a sensation that the room or area was very bright.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I heard five voices in the room with me. They were speaking a language I have never heard before on earth. Only one voice spoke English and it was a male voice.

Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere, as if by ESP? No

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? No

Did you see any beings in your experience? I sensed their presence

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? No

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? An unusually bright light

Did you see an unearthly light? No

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm. It was the most comfortable and peaceful place I have ever been. I had the sensation like I was lying in the biggest and most comfortable bed I have ever laid in. Even though I couldn't see, I felt a BRIGHT energy all around.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I felt a sense of peace and comfort. I also felt I was being protected by the beings who were in the room I was in. I didn't want to leave, it felt like I was home and I was so loved by all in the room.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you have a feeling of joy? Incredible joy

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt no longer in conflict with nature

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? No

Did scenes from your past come back to you? No

Did scenes from the future come to you? No

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will. I was instructed by the male voice in the room. He told me it was time for me to wake and time for me to go back.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? No

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I heard a voice I could not identify. There were 5 people in the room. I couldn't see their faces, nor could I understand the language they were speaking. I only understood one voice right before I awoke. It was a male voice telling me it was time for me to wake and time for me to go back.

Did you see deceased or religious spirits? I sensed their presence

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? No

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Uncertain. I felt like I was in another dimension that definitely wasn't earthly.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes The voice that instructed me that it was time to wake was Jesus himself. That was revealed to me after I was home and in chapel one day. I was in front of the blessed sacrament when GOD revealed to me who the voice was that I heard in the room who was instructing me to wake and go back.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes It was as if LOVE and PEACE was all around me in the room I was in.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? Yes I am at peace with myself and everyone around me. I no longer feel like everyone is out to get me.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes It took me until I was home from the hospital to share it with my wife. I felt like it was an experience only for me to have felt, until GOD allowed me to put it into words.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience. It was so vivid and real.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes It took a couple weeks. My wife was very emotional and a close friends mother told me I was extremely blessed to remember the event.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real. It was an AMAZING and peaceful feeling.
