Experience Description I was 14 years old, and was down with a bad flu. As I lay on my bed, I started feeling tiny. I felt like my bedroom was the size of a large warehouse, compared to me. Then I was floating above my body, looking down at it curled on the bed. I started floating upward, and I could see the ceiling lamp from the side; like my eyes were exactly at the level of the ceiling. I could see the light bulb perfectly above the shade, and the graininess of the ceiling. This view was at an angle that I couldn't do physically because my head would have bump into the ceiling. My pupils were exactly on the ceiling surface. Then I was suddenly in my body again and no longer feeling tiny. I remember this event very clearly. Since I was 17, I was diagnosed with a benign heart arrhythmia. Others in the family have it. However, whenever I get a flu, my heart beat goes way down sometimes very severely, like 30 bpm. This bradycardia also causes a severe sleep apnea causing me to stop breathing as soon as I fall asleep. This means a I have a night or two of insomnia. I believe my heart might have stopped for a while or gone into fibrillation when that OBE incident happened. No What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was probably real. Right after I didn't really think much of it. Later when I remembered it, I came to realize it seemed like I had left my body. When years later, I read about NDEs, Moody's book I think, I thought that something like that may have happened to me. What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was probably real. I remember it so clearly, and what I saw was kind of unusual (the ceiling close up, my body etc.) At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? No Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience? It is kind of simple as NDEs go. I don't think I have anything to add. Are there any other questions that we could ask to help you communicate your experience? It's OK. orbgzvi_nde
