Experience Description

I’ve always had fainting spells ever since I was a kid. Most of the time, it was either fainting at the sight of blood or from overheating. I went to the doctor for a normal half-year physical. The doctor wanted to take my blood to run some lab tests. I sat in the chair as I told the technician that I faint easily. After she put the needle in my arm, I felt myself start to pass out. I recognized the signs of ringing in my ears, my vision was fading, and I was sweating. Halfway through my sentence, I blacked out.

I remember seeing a bright light and passing through something like a tunnel. I saw everything from when I was just born up until until my graduation from high school. The first thing I saw was my parents holding me in a hospital room. I assumed it was me because I saw my grandma with them. She passed over when I was age 7. Then I saw myself playing in the yard with my cousins. At that time, I had to have been about age 3.

What really freaked me out is that I felt like I was there for years. Time felt unbelievably slow, but it was also fast at the same time. I was floating above myself and everyone around me. They couldn’t see me and didn't even knew I was there.

Toward the end of the experience, I could feel my body shaking and jerking. My soul consciousness could sense something was wrong. I could hear the nurses yelling my name and felt them holding my head in place so I wouldn’t thrash around. Shortly after that, I came to and forgot where I was. I was gasping for air and tried to stand up, but the nurses and technicians wouldn’t let me. There were like 10 people in this little room, and everyone looked really scared. They told me I was out for almost a minute, and violently seizing. Afterwards, I was given some crackers and juice. I sat around for like 20 minutes, then they let me drive home.

I heard Dr. Long on a podcast and thought I’d write in and share my story.
