Experience Description

After my son's death, I took epilepsy medication.

During this time, I had several visions of a beautiful yard with blue tinted colors. I was enjoying perfection with nature. I had another vision of standing in a street of an old western town. I saw a Being in a run-down house.

I was brain dead for 4 minutes and in a coma for 8 days. I was back to almost normal within a month. This has changed my whole outlook on life, but I still have so many questions.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Suicide attempt CPR given Clinical death (cessation of breathing or heart function)

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

Did you feel separated from your body? Yes Several times, I heard three voices, two were women and one was a man. Although I never saw them, I can tell you the height, weight, and hair color of each person.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. I felt peacefulness and beauty without words. There was no hate. This experience was as real as life itself.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? not sure

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? No

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I felt pure contentment. I wasn't married, a father or a friend. Yet, I felt was pure love for all things and peace beyond peace.

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt no longer in conflict with nature

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes more respect for life. Being good so that I can earn my place there.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I heard a voice I could not identify. 2 women,1 man. All were soft-spoken

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Yes I know what the great beyond means; it's joy and peace.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes The colors were almost electrifying. I was in an area where I felt that I belonged

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Moderate changes in my life. I respect all life, from a blade of grass to a human being. I won't even kill a fly without feeling guilty

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes I can't totally explain it, but there was no hate in relationships. I was happier there than I have ever been.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience. It was like being in the Garden of Eden

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I try to talk to anyone who would listen. But there are few.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real. It was as real as my house

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real. It was real. I explained what I was wearing during my coma

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes only aura visions during and before seizure
