Experience Description:

While playing superman I thought I could fly. I was sickly as a child and had asthma and migraine headaches. After I landed, I was out for a while. I don't know if it was a minute or a half hour. During that period of being out, I felt as I was being drawn upward. There was a blackness around me but I was being drawn to a light. I felt no presence of body, only of mind. For what seemed like a long time, I had a mental communication with someone that said it wasn't my time. I kept wondering if I was going to see my family and would I come back to this place again? No answer was to given me. I was given a message by someone who I could not see that said, 'Your son will save you.' That happened in January 2004. I was also given a message that my son would be a great leader. That hasn't happened yet. What I remember most was the wonderful feeling of peace and love.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? No. Accident Other jumped off a roof of single family while playing superman. out for what i guess was a few minutes

How do you consider the content of your experience? Wonderful

Did you feel separated from your body? Yes I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal I was very curious of where I was and uneasy but not scared that I only had a presence of mind and not body.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? I was never alert but I always knew who I was. I was only nine at that time.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Neither

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Neither Just don't know. I realized I was in someplace different and unknown.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Neither

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Yes Drawn upward in a dark tunnel with a light from above.

Did you see any beings in your experience? Neither

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Uncertain Did not see anyone but someone was mentally communicating with me.

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes While being drawn upward I saw a bright light.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? Unfamiliar, strange place

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Love and peace which was overwhelming.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you have a feeling of joy? Incredible joy

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes Emotions. Can't explain the overwhelming feeling of both love and peace.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The overwhelmingly feeling of love and peace. Do not fear death.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I told no one not even my wife until twenty-five years after the incident. It wasn't until January 2004 that I first told my wife and son the whole incident.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real I was only nine years old when the incident happened and told no one until twenty-five years later and then only after reading a book, 'Life After Life' by Dr. Raymond Moody. I was afraid to tell anybody fearing my mother would think I was crazy.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? No

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience? It was most pleasurable except for no response if I would go back there.
