Experience Description

I was shot in the mouth by a gun from 12 feet away.

I left my body. I was way out into space, like I was shot from a canon. When I stopped, I was enclosed in a dark ambe-like light. Two Beings were with me. I couldn't see them but felt their presence. I could communicate with them mentally. I felt at peace. Free. No worries. And it felt more real than earthly life. I asked the Beings what would happen if I kept going. They told me that if I kept going, I couldn't go back to my body.

I asked what would happen if I went back. They said they would show me. I felt a tremendous amount of physical, mental, and emotional pain. This is how they showed me. I asked what I should do. They told me that it was my choice. I got the feeling that they felt it would be better for me to go back, although they didn't say that. So I said, 'Oka,y I will go back.' I was instantly back in my body, lying on the street and fighting for my life.

Did you feel separated from your body? No. I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. When I left my body, I felt very peaceful and worry free. I actually felt more alive than before. I didn't feel any pain.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? The whole time

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes Definite belief in reincarnation. I believe we have eternal life, the all importance of love; and god's love, mercy, and non-judgment

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? Yes. I felt like love was the only thing that mattered

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? Yes What I experienced was more real than the nonsense that goes on in our earthly life and that there was more to learn along this line

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life. Have tried to understand why I had the experience and what I am supposed to learn from it. Definitely know there is no death. Life is eternal. Love is most important.

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes The peaceful feeling is hard to describe. Also hard to explain what I felt when they showed me what it would be like if I chose to come back

I remember the experience as accurately as other life events that occurred around the time of the experience. I was awake the whole time until I went into surgery some 3 hours later
