Experience Description I was in an IBM sales class when I experienced heart failure. I heard a distinct 'click,' my heart stopped, and I collapsed. Having had a couple of near-death experiences (NDEs) when I was very young, I had resolved to pay attention if it ever happened again. And this time, I did. There was no doubt in my mind, I knew I was dead. I lingered to observe for a while. They took me to the hospital in a white van, not waiting for an ambulance. I didn't see this happen; I just knew. Two men were with me; one tall and one short. The doctors later told me it took them 14 minutes to resuscitate me. During that time, I traveled to another place. At first, it felt like a doctor's office with a soft light and many seats. Then, it transformed into a meeting place. The light grew a bit brighter, but still gentle. Before long, I noticed very tall and white double-doors to my left. As I approached, they opened without me touching them. I walked into a vast field that stretched endlessly. The entities there weren't physical; we were all made of energy and were blending into the light. Though I knew these Beings were individuals I had known, I didn't recognize them at that moment. We were completely comfortable together, surrounded by pure love. One energy drew close to me, and I recognized the energy as my grandmother. This confused me because I knew she was still alive. We talked for a long time about many things. Eventually, she told me I had to return to my life. I wanted to stay in that beautiful place with no pain and only love. She then showed me a vision of my granddaughter, who wouldn’t be born for another five years. I heard another ‘click,’ and suddenly, I was back in my body. I was on a gurney in the emergency room, surrounded by doctors and nurses. Someone was rubbing my chest bone with their thumb, and others had used electric paddles to revive me. The noise was overwhelming and the pain was excruciating. The light was harsh. But I was back. After some discussion, I left the hospital and drove to my brother's house in Tennessee, where I learned that my grandmother had suffered a stroke and was in the hospital. There was no tunnel, no light, and no deity as such.
