Experience Description

I was walking towards these human shapes, I could not make out faces but everybody was like sort of waiting to greet me. I felt like I was coming back home and the feeling of happiness coming from the human shapes present was so overwhelming that I have never in my life felt so wanted and loved. In a morbid way, I was mad that I came back because I felt like I had known and loved them all my life. It felt like I was coming back to a place that was a part of me that made complete.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Heart attack 'Life threatening event, but not clinical death' My heart started beating so high that the doctor had to use the paddles to restore a normal heart beat.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Wonderful

The experience included: Out of body experience

Did you feel separated from your body? Uncertain I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal Before I came back.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? Before I came back.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning It certainly felt different than here.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I was able to see but I could not focus on specifics.

Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere? Yes, and the facts have been checked out

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Yes It wasn't a tunnel per se but they shapes were line up making sort of a path that I was walking toward and there was a light at the end.

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Yes They were shapes, I could not focus on the faces, no we did not speak, it wasn't necessary, I could feel their love and happiness.

Did scenes from your past come back to you? My past flashed before me, out of my control

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? Yes Now the people close to me mean a lot more and even strangers I try to treat better.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The whole thing was overwhelming.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes About two weeks later I told my doctor after he read the report of what had happen, as a matter of fact he asked me where did you go?

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real Everything felt so real and the feelings were so powerful I know this was something special right after I came back.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real It has helped me to cope better with situations and relations in my life.
