Experience Description I had strong symptoms that my family associated with the flu. When they realized that my health hadn't improved, they took me to the pediatrician who had taken care of me since birth. She immediately called the hospital. I had pneumonia and she thought it would be better for me to spend a day in the hospital. Once there, my mother and I were taken to the room where I received medication. In the early hours of the morning my condition got worse and I was taken to the ICU. I spent 21 days in the ICU; and I don't know which of those days my NDE happened. I was intubated, sedated, and had lung necrosis. My grandmother says that the doctor, who was close to her, even called her to prepare her for my death. In my experience, there was green grass and several different types of flowers. There were also some trees that resembled cherry blossoms. I was in a long and narrow river in the middle of all this beautiful scenery. The river seemed to move very slowly as I was rowing my boat. I ran my hands over the flowers and the grass, laughing with Happiness. I made spirals in the water and also played with it. I felt very loved and so good! The sun seemed to emit a light that warmed me emotionally rather than physically. I felt embraced and loved by everything I saw. Every plant and every leaf and water seemed to love me. I don't remember what happened after that. I left the hospital and and I've never had any experience like it.
