Experience Description This happened to me about 4 years ago, so my memory of the day leading up to the event is very foggy. It was an emotional time in my family, and a lot of information was uncovered; I was going through a tough time. I had recently gotten caught by my parents for smoking marijuana about 4 months prior to the event. After getting caught, my anxiety sky rocketed. I was always on edge because my parents had not been the kindest to me about the situation. As the months went on, our relationship was fixed, but my anxiety was not. They allowed me to smoke with them only, and saved it strictly for the weekends. My anxiety was up and I was struggling to remember to eat and drink. I barely had any water that day, and probably not enough nutrients as well. It was a hot summer night in July. We went to the garage to smoke marijuana. I had taken a few hits already, and we were casually standing around talking. I remember being in the garage one minute, and then being carried into the house. I don't remember passing out. I couldn't feel myself being carried. I almost saw it through my closed eyelids, and could hear my parents say, 'She's seizing!' I believe this is the moment I started to leave my body. I lost all sense of touch and feeling. I could only hear and see slightly. After this, time seemed to jump a little. I was up, in the corner of ceiling of the living room, watching and listening to everything that happened. The next thing I saw was my entire living room. I had been placed on the couch. I saw my parents standing over my body. I could hear them screaming my name, begging me to wake up. My stepdad was telling my mom to go get a wet towel to put on my face. I could see him tapping my arm and my face, still saying, 'Hailey.' I instinctively turn around and look over my right shoulder towards the wall. I saw a black tunnel with what seemed to be a flashback or video inside. The name that my stepdad was saying quickly turned to 'Adam.' As I was listening to him say Adam's name, I was watching what seemed to be a flashback of Adam's entire life. Adam had a wife and family. In the middle of this tunnel-view flashback I was watching, I woke up in my own body. I started laughing, recalling my experience. I thought it was the coolest thing that had ever happened to me and I didn't want the experience to end. I felt comfortable. I didn't feel cold or hot; scared or angry. I do not know anyone named Adam; it has no significance to me. I felt at peace, even with this stranger 'Adam' that I seemed to be turning into. I didn't mind it, and I told my parents about it as soon as I woke up. Of course, they thought I was just high. But my high was long gone. Although, it had only been 10 minutes since we smoked, I was sober as a bird. I don't think I made it far enough into my near death experience to be sad that it was over. I still think about it every day and want to go back more than anything. I didn't fall into a depression. Instead, I let it consume me in a great way. It's one of the best things that has ever happened to me, and has shaped who I am today. It was the most amazing experience I could ever ask for. Background Information: Gender: Female Date NDE Occurred: 07/2020 NDE Elements: At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Uncertain Drug Interaction. Illness, trauma or other condition not considered life threatening. During my experience, I was going through a hard time in my life, experiencing daily anxiety, etc. I had not been drinking enough water, and did not have enough food on my stomach at the time of my experience. I passed out in a hot garage while standing up smoking marijuana with other people. While unconscious, someone caught me and claimed that I was having a seizure-like reaction. How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant Did you feel separated from your body? Yes My mom told me what happened when I woke up, but I already knew. I remember saying 'I know' right after she told me I was passed out on the couch and 'seizing.' The only thing I didn't understand is how I got unconscious. I clearly left my body and existed outside it How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. I seemed to hear everything and also know that I was going to be okay. I wasn't dying or dead either. I just knew the uncertainty that my parents did not know yet. At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? While I was in the ceiling corner watching everything happen Were your thoughts speeded up? No Did time seem to speed up or slow down? No Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. Everything seemed to have a haze over it. At the same time, I was watching every object in the living room at the same time, taking in all the colors at the same time, which made it feel so much more vivid. Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. My hearing was definitely amplified considering I was on the second story of my house watching from above. I believe this is only because my body was literally right near my parents talking, so I think that's why I could hear better than I thought I would be able to. Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere? No Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Yes I didn't go into the tunnel; I was just looking through it. It was almost just a small circular video that I was watching through a very dark tunnel Did you see any beings in your experience? No Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? No Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? No Did you see an unearthly light? Incredible peace or pleasantness Did you have a feeling of joy? Incredible joy Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt united or one with the world Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? Everything about myself or others I could only fully understand what was happening in the room, nothing outside of it. Did scenes from your past come back to you? No Did scenes from the future come to you? No Did you come to a border or point of no return? No God, Spiritual and Religion: What was your religion prior to your experience? Unaffiliated- Atheist At the time, I grew up atheist and strongly did not believe in God or any after life. I had heard of near death experiences, but never did any research or understood what it entailed since I did not believe in it at the time. Have your religious practices changed since your experience? Yes I talk to God a lot now, and can physically feel his presence or energy when I couldn't before. What is your religion now? Christian- Catholic Ever since my experience, I realized there is definitely something after death, and I slowly began to grow a relationship with God. Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience I did not know that was even a possibility, I didn't see it as a religious thing when it was happening. Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes I knew that we serve a different purpose on earth than I thought, so I be sure to be kind to everyone and spread love always now. Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? No Did you see deceased or religious spirits? No Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? Uncertain Adam could be from the Bible, I am not sure about this one or Adam's significance. During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Uncertain Adam could be a past life, that is what I believed at the time I think. Now I am unsure. During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? No During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? No During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes I just knew there was infinite love around me, from every molecule in the room, I felt it. What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Moderate changes in my life After the NDE: Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes For the longest time, I just knew that my name was Adam, or Adam had some sort of great significance to my life. I still don't understand the logic of that part of my experience, but I am able to put it into words now. How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes Immediately, some I could tell did not believe me. After reiterating it multiple times, people finally started listening. Experience was definitely real What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? No Are there any other questions that we could ask to help you communicate your experience? Thank you so much for taking the time to do this research. It is truly fascinating to me as well, and I enjoyed listening to your podcast with Theo Von. jg88mvu_nde
