Experience Description

I started feeling bad in the morning and by the evening I had the chills. Feeling as if I were getting the flu, I went to bed. Around 1:30 in the morning, I awoke and needed to use the restroom. I was drenched in sweat from my fever. When I was in the restroom, I felt as if I were going to pass out or get sick. I walked into my living room and collapsed against the dining room wall. While falling, I hit my head on the kitchen counter and then again on the wall. This knocked me out, and my body, from my shoulder to my elbow, was stuck, jammed against the wall, until I came to. At that point, I pushed and slid myself down to the floor, where I lay flat on my back. The room was pitch black. The next thing I recall is seeing an extremely bright, white light directly above me. I started thinking, 'There's no light above me in this room where I'm lying.' Then I realized that I was no longer sweating and felt totally at peace. I lay there for a few minutes, just looking at the light. Then it hit me that I was dying. I said to myself, 'This cannot be happening. I have a six month old son that needs me.' The light disappeared. When I made my way back to my bed, it was after 2:00 am.

NDE Elements:

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Uncertain Illness. Direct head injury. Collapsed in home from Pneumonia and extreme temperature and hit my head. Other Collapsed in home from Pneumonia and extreme temperature and hit my head. I had an extreme temperature and was dehydrated from Pneumonia.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

Did you feel separated from your body? No No

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal I felt totally at peace. I could see everything in the room even though it was pitch black in the room.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? At the very end.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Faster than usual

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? No

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

The experience included: Unearthly light

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes Extreme white round light directly above me. It thought it was my imagination from hitting my head, but when I looked away it didn't move with me. It stayed directly above me.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? No

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I was totally at peace and extremely calm.
