Experience Description

I was in my friend's kitchen and my spirit jumped out of my body in an upwards motion. I ended up becoming a blue orb or an energy ball that was electric-blue in color. There was a buzzing sensation or a humming, almost exactly like what the Buddhist monks chant when they chant OM or AUM, which is the sound of God to them.

Then I blacked out and was found wandering the next day in a different city and taken to the hospital. I remember bits of the time in between, but I seriously thought I was dead. I must say that I might have smoked a couple puffs of a joint at the time but it was not out of the ordinary for me at that time. Then after two weeks in the hospital, it happened again. But this time, I willingly left and rose above my body 2.5 feet, got scared, and went back into my body.

Ever since these experiences, I have had many paranormal experiences where I feel like I have been on the cusp of both worlds. I have even had spirits visit me. From what I have researched, there are monks that can leave their bodies and fly around at will. I have taken precautions to not sleep too deeply so I don't leave my body again. However, I do believe that I have left a few times and gone through walls while my body slept even though my consciousness did not. At the time of my OBE, I did not believe in God. But now I am a spiritual freak, wanting to be as close to God as possible. I do not think I was going to heaven before but now I hope I am because I have been a good person and prayed to God for forgiveness.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Uncertain Drug or medication overdose. Life threatening event, but not clinical death. My spirit just jumped out of my body and I blacked-out.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely distressing

The experience included: Out of body experience

Did you feel separated from your body? No I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal I could feel everything out of body, but the meat suit numbs stuff.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? When I was literally 2 feet above my body and I could feel the environment buzzing like it was energy as if I was in a pool but of energy and I was buzzing too.

Were your thoughts speeded up? No

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual Time was definitely slow or no time at all.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Have your religious practices changed since your experience? Yes I try to follow the bible and be as spiritual as possible.

What importance do you place on your religious/spiritual life after your experience? Greatly important to me

What is your religion now? Christian- Other Christian Christian with Buddhist beliefs.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience I knew nothing about the afterlife and just that God was some ‘thing' out there.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes I am more compassionate and more spiritual.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? No

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Uncertain I always knew I was a reincarnated soul because of knowledge before birth of me flying around in a church outside of a body around stained glass windows with sunlight going through them........but........after my nde and obe an awareness has come to me.......you probably hear it alot and maybe it is brain damage but I swear I was a knight around 1400-1700 a.d.........which I know you think I am nuts......but discern for yourself.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes Everything was a sea of energy, as if I was under water and it was all vibrating or buzzing.

Did you believe in the existence of God prior to your experience? I was uncertain if God exists

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Uncertain I did years after the experience. You have to remember that this is still going on and I feel I am on the border between still. God definitely exists.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes Clairsentient and clairvoyant traits.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? Scared the crap out of me because I was sure I was going to hell.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes After two days and the people I told were scared. It probably made them better persons, out of fear that it would happen to them.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Uncertain I think I had heard of it before.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real I was scared shirtless.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real It happened.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes On many occasions, I feel I have left again, as if I am still on the border of life and death. The awareness of the veil is still there.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience? I wanted to make a movie about it. Ever since it happened, I have seen and felt spirits.
