I was on a business trip over 100 miles from home, when I nearly passed out. My associate took me to the closest hospital's emergency room. I had no symptoms but the doctor said my labs were dreadful and admitted me directly into Intensive Care (ICU). After several hours, I suddenly started vomiting bright red blood and passing a black tar like substance through the rectum. Combined blood loss was massive. ICU staff was fantastic but my blood pressure went to zero twice. I was administered multiple IVs and seven units of blood to try to regain blood pressure. On 2 occasions, I went to a strange place. The first time was very short. On the second occasion, I was looking through a multicolored 'window' into a beautiful 'tropical' garden. I don't have words to describe it better. The window was a series of mosaics with beautiful lights of alternating soft peaceful colors. I was able to speak to the ICU professional and wanted to tell her about it. She asked if it scared me and I said that it was very peaceful and not at all frightening, but I didn't know what it was. She said that if it made me peaceful that I should go there and relax and she would call me when it was time to come back and explain it to me. When she started to call me back, I really was not sure that I wanted to go back. A mental message came to me from somewhere, in wherever I was, that told me I had to go back because there were things I still needed to do. The ICU tech said that the two times I went elsewhere were when my blood pressure dropped to zero and I was 'clinically' dead but not yet brain dead.

I think that you would probably get many more responses if you culled down the number of questions.
