Experience Description

In October 2009, I was in critical condition with the H1N1 Flu. I was in a coma for three weeks, double pneumonia, total respiratory failure, intubated, and a medically induced coma. During this coma, I remembered nothing when I awoke except that a man approached me and took me by my right arm and stated, 'Walk with me'. When walking he stated to me 'Your job is not finished, you must go back.' This experience occurred in a total white area - as the inside of a Ping-Pong ball. During this period of my coma, the doctor had told my wife to expect the worse, as they could do no more. At one point during the coma (I believe coincides with my experience), I began a miraculous recovery as stated by my doctors. The doctors were calling me the 'Miracle Man'. Within a week, both my lungs cleared totally. I spent the entire month of October 2009 in the critical care unit followed by two and one half months of physical therapy.

This experience has changed my life and has made me a stronger Christian. I would love to share my experience with anyone who is interested.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? None. I was in a coma.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning I had no concept of time.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. It occurred as if I was inside a 'ping pong ball'. All white with no references.

Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere? Yes, and the facts have been checked out

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? No

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Yes A man with black hair. I do not remember seeing his face or clothing, but I felt I could trust him. He took me by my right arm and stated 'Walk with me', and then he stated 'Your job is not finished, you must go back.' This is all that I remember in my coma.

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? No

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? No

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I felt a yearning for something. Also, I felt I needed to see my wife.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you have a feeling of joy? incredible joy

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt united or one with the world

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? Everything about the universe

Did scenes from your past come back to you? My past flashed before me, out of my control

Did scenes from the future come to you? Scenes from the world's future

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will
