Experience Description

As a boy of about 13, I was standing on a bridge that was also a dam. I was leaning against an aluminum, light pole that got hit by a bolt of lightning. It knocked me out. My step-dad saw it and tried to revive me by by CPR and heat massage. As I lay there on the road, I was in a deep, dark place that was absolutely inky black. I couldn't see anything. After what seemed like a minute, the blackness gave way to a gray, and then there was a white cloud. Then there was absolute clearness, as if I was floating in space. Then I began to travel at a really fast speed, yet I felt no wind or sound.

All the stars seemed to blur as the speed increased in a tunnel of light. At the end of the tunnel, I saw a bright pin-point of light. As I got closer, the light got bigger until I entered the light. I found myself in a beautiful realm that had mountains and very green grass and the bluest sky.

I saw a small, winding creek about a hundred yards in front of me. It sparkled as it reflected the sunlight. The water was clear as liquid air, so clean looking.

In the distance, I saw a tree that was about 400 to 500 feet high, but probably closer to 500 yards away. The tree had many colors to it's leaves, like gold, green, brown, and yellow. The tree sparkled like it had lots of diamonds on it. With a blink of my eye, I was next to this tree within a second. I was looking at each leaf and could see what was reflecting all the dazzling little colors of light. There were raindrops reflecting the the rainbow within each drop of each of the colored leaves the raindrops rested upon.

As I looked back in awe at the distance I traveled, I saw a rocky outcrop of large stones to my left. Instantly, I knew somebody important was waiting for me there. I also saw some figures of people far in the distance who were wearing brightly fluorescence colors. I again turned my attention to the rocky outcrop and proceed towards it. Within moments, I was there. I saw a girl of about 18 or 19 years old, that I knew was my soul mate. She saw me at the same time I saw her. I saw a look of surprise on her face. It was then that I realized I had just left this place and had returned after only a few minutes. Yet by my earth time, I had been gone the 13 years of my age. It was confusing. My soulmate was dressed very differently than the other Beings I'd seen in the distance. She was wearing a green outfit like you would think Robin Hood would be wearing. She also had very short hair, like a boy, and her skin was almost completely alabaster white, like marble.

As I approached her, she seemed to be telling me that it was not yet my time and that I couldn't stay. I remember pleading with her and crying to let me stay, but she said I had things to 'witness' and then I could come back and stay as long as I wanted too. With that, she waved her hand and I was drawn back into the same tunnel of light I had come through. You would think this is the end of the story but it isn't, it's only beginning!

As I returned to where my body lay, I saw my stepdad doing CPR and trying to revive me. Even when he was giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, I saw a bit of steam exit my mouth. Within an instant, I was pulled back into my body. As I opened my eyes, I developed a severe hatred of my stepdad for bringing me back. I blamed him for my return. Although this would later wear off and I realized he was just trying to save my life. I stayed in bed for about 3 weeks because I was too severely sore to move. We didn't have money to take me to the hospital at the time.

I never told my Mom or stepdad what I experienced. I listened to a great many so-called experts who said that people who experienced this kind of situation were suffering from lack of oxygen as the body shuts down and the brain starts to suffocate. I was confused for a great many years thereafter. I wanted to believe it was real. Then, one day I was watching a TV show on NDEs. They were having a group discussion by people who had been declared dead but lived. As they were going from person to person, they came to a guy who said he too had been electrocuted. He had been adjusting his roof antenna as it touched a power line and the electricity had knocked him off the roof.

As I sat there listening to him, he started saying everything that I had experienced 17 years earlier. He said everything in the same order that I did and described exactly what I saw! He saw the grass that was so green and the sky that was so beautiful. He talked about the crystal-clear, babbling brook that shimmered in the sunlight. He saw the tree with all the multi-colored leaves shimmering like sparkling glitter. He said he saw the sunlight sparkling through each raindrop on each leaf. He talked about seeing a young teenage girl of about 19 or 20 years old who was sitting on a bunch of large stones off to his left. She also was wearing something like a green Tinker Bell outfit (much like what I described as a Robin Hood outfit). He said the girl told him it was not his time yet and that he must return until his it was time for him to come back.

I almost lost my breath, because there were too many similarities for this to be a coincidence. I knew then that what I experienced had been real.

My life changed forever at that point. I knew that there was life after death, that there was a heaven; that there must be a God in heaven and that Jesus Christ was real.

To this day, I often profess my love of our father in heaven and accept Christ as my savior.

With this said, I share this story with all.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? I was completely aware of everything, as if I awoke from life itself, which had been a dream all along but now I was in reality

Were your thoughts speeded up? Faster than usual

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual. Everything was so fast, as if I just looked somewhere and I was there instantly.

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I saw everything so vibrant and I could see to far distances almost instantly as if I were 'there.'

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. Acute! My hearing was very clear, the same as thoughts.

Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere, as if by ESP? No

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Yes It was as if all the stars started speeding up and I was surrounded by them. They became the tunnel of light

Did you see any beings in your experience? No

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? No

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? An unusually bright light

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes As I began to exit the tunnel of light

What emotions did you feel during the experience? As if I were back home in my real surroundings, Heaven!

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? Everything about myself or others. I knew that I had been there before. In fact, it seemed as if I had only left it a few minutes before.

What was your religion prior to your experience? Christian- Other Christian At the time I don't know if I believed in God.

Have your religious practices changed since your experience? Yes I am very cautious about doing anything wrong. I respect life more now.

What is your religion now? I deeply believe in God and Jesus Christ.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience. Before I was questioning if God was real. During and after the NDE, I knew God and Jesus Christ were real and felt bad for questioning my own beliefs.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes I am more cautious about being good. I am living life honestly and true, involving the lord as my savior.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin. A young girl of about 18 or 19 years old, but I knew she was many hundreds of years old, if not thousands of years old, yet she looked like a teenager.

Did you see deceased or religious spirits? No

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? No

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Yes I knew I was back home before my time on Earth.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? No

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? No

Concerning our Earthly lives other than Religion:

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Yes The longer I was there, the less I needed to ask as all my questions were answered then and there. All I had to do was ask and I already knew the answer.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? No

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? An afterlife definitely exists. Yes I knew that I was back in my real home before life on Earth

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? Yes To learn from all experiences, both good and bad so as to appreciate everything.

During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? No

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes I knew my experience on Earth was to learn that there is no light without darkness, that there is no good with out bad, and that we had to experience these events in order to appreciate the other.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life. I have accepted God and Jesus into my life. I am deeply aware that they are truly a part, if not all, of our lives.

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? Yes I respect others now. I try to live by God and Jesus' teachings. The Law of God means more to me than the law of man.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? No

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience. I know there is an afterlife and that we are here to learn and appreciate our soul Being as well as our father in heaven. I have no doubts whatsoever.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? Just that I truly want to be with my family in the after life

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes Just a very few people because as most have difficulty accepting what I say as true or real. This is their issue, not mine.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real. It took me years because I heard another person tell his story and it was the same as mine almost word for word and in the order that I experienced mine. No two people could have the exact same dream. There were way too many coincidences for it not to be real. It happened!

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real. Because it was verified and validated by me hearing somebody else say everything I saw some 17 years later, Yet, I had never told anybody what I saw and experienced.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? No

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience? I accept God and Jesus into my life they are my savior. In Jesus Name Amen!
