Experience Description

After being in labor for nineteen hours my baby was stuck and the doctor decided to do an emergency cesarean section. When they were ready to cut, the epidural wasn't working anymore so they put me under anesthesia.

I found myself in a very bright hallway, very beautiful and very cozy. At the end of the hallway, there were some figures, which I couldn't make out clearly. They were calling me by my first name and asking me to live, telling me that it was time, I had to go. At the same time, someone was slapping me in the face, calling me by my last name and asking me to wake up.

I am not sure how long it lasted but it was a bit scary - especially that when I tried to talk about it on the floor, I was told that it was a hallucination.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Yes I don't know who they were but I thought I recognized my mother's voice, who passed away in 1992.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I do not dare talking about it again because people laughed at me at the hospital.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real Because I know I had a little problem during my delivery, I know that what happened was real.
