Experience Description

Hard one to answer: I had awareness of my surroundings and persons around me for only a few seconds. I became disassociated with input from the persons and equipment used to work on me. I saw a shimmering portal-like wreath, which enlarged and shrank in size. I knew I could reach through, and I did. It was welcoming and enticing. My grandfather was visible through the hole and he wanted to take me fishing. I reached through and stepped halfway in, then withdrew as my children entered my thoughts. I told my grandfather no and he said 'but Kevin, I even have worms today.' This meant the best bait possible for our favorite fishing spot.

Suddenly, the shimmery port was gone and I was awake. This happened again 2 days later, but I already knew if I went through the hole in the shimmery thing I could not come back.

Did you feel separated from your body? No I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? I was aware of everything that happened, even the nurse missing my vein starting the IV. The highest level was when I was to choose to go through or stay here and tend to business. Consciousness is the wrong term: awareness and sensitivity are more appropriate, infinite awareness. Infinite.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Faster than usual

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? No

Were your senses more vivid than usual? No

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Uncertain No, it was a definitive boundary which I am estimating at 2 feet thick with an opening that grew to 4 feet in diameter and down to 2 inches in diameter constantly changing and looked like Christmas tree tin foil.
