Experience Description

I have had three NDEs. The first two NDEs were from auto accidents and I was not near death. But, I guess I believed I was going to die.

In the first experience, I had a life recall where I lived the first 19 years of my life in real time. Except, on this plane, instead of it taking 19 years, it lasted only 3-5 seconds. When I awoke, my body was electrified. My muscles were pumping and I felt so strong and powerful. I was amazed at how much information the brain can process in such a short time. As the day went on, I started forgetting the vast quantity of details of what I had been shown. However, the experience is crystal clear. By the next day had forgotten most of the details. It makes me wonder if this life is only a matter of minutes on another plane.

The second experience was a OBE when I was around 30 years old. It was amazing having an existence without a body. It is so stress-free. I left my body and saw the car below me as I was accelerated through the clouds. Then, I was in like a kind of an auditorium. It was very grey and I was moving down the center aisle. The souls on the left appeared not to know me, but were curious and welcoming. The people on the right however, I could feel the tremendous outpouring of love. I saw souls I knew; even my father who had died when I was only 2 years old. I was being pulled forward and remember thinking I was going to leave my wife, but she would be OK. I couldn't resist as I moved forward toward an arched doorway.

When I got to the portal, I could see beautiful light on the other side, but it was without glare. The figure on the other side was spinning counter-clockwise and looking up. She had on a white, transparent gown and as she spun there were different colored gems or LEDs in the gown. They were beautiful. There was also this beautiful music. She was calling for me to come through the doorway and I couldn't stop myself. It was my mom. As I was about to pass through I felt a hand on my chest and heard the words, 'Not yet'. It was my dad pushing me back. I could see the other side of the ESU van as I was descending back into my vehicle. I knew the police officer was going to appear around the back before he got there.

I wrestled for a long time whether this was true, and wouldn't tell anybody about it because they would think I was nuts. But I know it happened. I was ready to stay there because it was so beautiful, but my dad sent me back.

At age 65, I went into anaphylactic shock while swimming in my backyard. When I came to, I was swallowing water and drowning. I screamed for help but my wife couldn't hear me. I had no muscle control; I couldn't even tread water. I felt that I was going to die. This time I fought to stay here, although I am not really sure why. I remember hearing, 'That's it, let's go.' I felt myself being pulled away, but my dog jumped in and swam out to me. I wrapped my arms around him and he swam in to the steps. I went into vtach in the ambulance and had no blood pressure. I spent 3 days in the hospital with pneumonia. I learned why I fought to stay. I felt I had unfinished business and needed to stay and help my family.

I understand if people have a hard time believing this stuff. Sometimes, I even do too. It is so liberating because I lost my fear of death, now knowing how good it is on other side. I am starting to understand that we are only partially here on earth and a big part of us is on the other side. The love and the feeling over there is so much more than on earth.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Allergic Reaction Drowning. Two car accidents. Life threatening event, but not clinical death

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

Did you feel separated from your body? Yes The third experience, I vaguely remember sometime in the ambulance like it was a dream. I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. 1st time I re-lived 19 years in real time in 3-5 seconds. 2nd OBE totally bizarre and totally amazing. I look forward to going back 35 years later. 3rd I was less conscious.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? During the first and second times, I was somewhere else. The third time, I was conscious while drowning but blacked out in the ambulance.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Faster than usual

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning 1st NDE I lived 19 years in real time, in a matter of 3-5 seconds.

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. During the second event, everything on this side of the portal was gray and indistinguishable. There were figures, but they appeared like shadows.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. Didn't understand how I could see or hear without eyes or ears. It wasn't until my daughter suggested ESP, that made sense.

Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere? No

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Uncertain I went up through the clouds, next thing I knew I was there, don't remember a tunnel going up or down.

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Yes My father, my mother as an angel, and some of my aunts and uncles. One of my uncles that I could feel, was still alive at the time. I didn't experience any of my dogs. I hope they will be there when I finally go.

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm 2nd NDE was an OBE. Experience is described in detail on page 1.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? 1st Recall. Amazed at the amount of information. 2nd OBE absolutely amazed at the love and connection with other souls. 3rd terror I wanted to stay here, and felt I was being pulled away.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you have a feeling of joy? Incredible joy

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt united or one with the world

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? No

Did scenes from your past come back to you? My past flashed before me, out of my control 1st NDE I lived 19 years in real time, in a matter of 3-5 seconds. Though I remember the event vividly, most of the detail I forgot the following day.

Did scenes from the future come to you? No

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will 2nd NDE OBE Dad sent me back I wanted to stay. 3rd NDE I was being pulled away and I had to stay. Left with the sense I had unfinished business to take care of my family.

What was your religion prior to your experience? Buddhist

Have your religious practices changed since your experience? Yes

What is your religion now? Buddhist

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I heard a voice I could not identify On the 3rd experience when I was drowning, I experienced some kind of dark presence that told me 'let's go that's it'. I didn't feel this spirit had my best interests at heart.

Did you see deceased or religious spirits? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? Yes My father, my mother as an angel, and some of my aunts and uncles. One of my uncles that I could feel, was still alive at the time.

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Yes That human life is only temporary and this is not our home. I can't wait to go back there.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes Yes I sensed that our souls are so connected with the ones we love.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes I was left with the sense that quite possibly God is not a being, but the connection we have with other good souls. God is in every one of us and collectively we are God.

Concerning our Earthly lives other than Religion:

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Yes 3rd NDE I was left with the understanding I have to stay on earth to take care of my family.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? No

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? Yes 2nd NDE OBE I was there, not in my body, and though I got sent back I have spent many times since thinking 'I want to go home'. Earth is not our home.

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? No

During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? No

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes This is the part that cannot be described, other than sheer bliss. I have never felt anything like this in my life. Just the thought is brining tears to my eyes.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? Yes

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes At first difficult but over time I started to understand it.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience All 3 NDEs I remember much more vividly than what happened today. 2 of those NDEs were over 30 years ago.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes Sometimes I can tell things are going to happen before they happen. I am not a psychic or clairvoyant but sometime I know things are going to happen before they do. When it happens, I get chills down my spine.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? Too much to list. I have learned more in my brief time in my 3 NDEs than I have in 65 years on earth.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes Years. I still think my wife doesn't believe me. Other than her I kept it to myself for about 30 years. I was afraid people would think I was nuts. I even questioned myself sometimes, even though I knew it happened.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real I kept it to myself for about 30 years. I was afraid people would think I was nuts. I even questioned myself sometimes, even though I knew it happened.

Are there any other questions that we could ask to help you communicate your experience? A lot of the questions are redundant. Glad I put all 3 NDEs on one questionnaire. I could not do this 3 times.
