Experience Description

I was having an argument with my girlfriend when she stabbed me in the chest. One moment, I was sitting in a chair and the next thing I know, I was floating above my body. I was watching the paramedics attend to me but I was looking at them from above.

Then everything went dark. I was was not alone. Someone was there with me and I've NEVER felt that kind of LOVE BEFORE. I did not want to leave him; I did not want to leave that LOVE. He told me that I had to go back. When I asked, 'WHY?' He replied, 'The kids are going to need you.' It was as if he knew exactly what to say that would reach my HEART and mind. Yet, to this day I have no children. But I immediately answered, 'YES! OK!'

I woke up in the hospital. About 30 minutes later, that SAME VOICE said to me, 'You are about to leave again, but don't worry. You are coming right back.' Then, I flat-lined again. I was floating outside of my body again. I was watching the nurses rush into my room. I was not worried because I knew that I was coming back. I did come back and got better.

Ten years later in the year 2000, I was on a bus when that same voice from my NDE said to me, 'You are about to meet your wife. She needs you and you need her.' We are still married to this day.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

Did you feel separated from your body? Yes As I was floating, I watched everybody that was in the room with me. I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal I don't know how high my consciousness level was. It was just very different from normal.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? I don't know.

Were your thoughts speeded up? No

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? No

Were your senses More vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin I encountered a man with a very kind voice.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes I felt a hand on my shoulder and heard the voice.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes The love I felt does not exist in this life that we live here on earth.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life

Was the experience difficult to express in words? No

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience. I will never forget this experience.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? It proved to me that in spite of myself, GOD was waiting for me.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes When I left the hospital.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real I felt grateful for everything.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real That's hard to explain because it is something that you just know.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes I was told by the same voice that I was about to meet my wife. One hour later, I met her. It's been almost 20 years later and we are still together.
