Experience Description

At the age of 4, I was shot straight into my brain which caused me to suddenly faint. During this time, I fainted, lost a lot of blood and my heart continued to beat. I was on the ground for an hour before the ambulance arrived. When they took me to the emergency room, they gave me blood transfusions because I had lost a lot of blood. I was at risk of dying more from blood loss than from the bullet that had been accidentally shot at me for fun.

At that moment, I regained consciousness. I saw that I was on a bed and in the emergency room. I saw the doctor who was fiddling with some instruments on my head. Turning my head, I saw my parents, all my uncles, and my grandparents, who were crying. I didn't understand what was happening.

Shortly thereafter, I lost consciousness and they urgently transferred me to another ambulance which was 3 hours away by car. Halfway there, my heart stopped for about 10 minutes. I was declared clinically dead by the doctor who was in the ambulance. After ten minutes, my heart started beating again and I was immediately transported by the same ambulance to where a medical team was waiting and ready to operate on me. After 9 hours of surgery, in which they tried to extract the bullet but couldn't get it out without killing me. They decided to leave it there, where it currently resides under the pineal gland.

During this time, I went into a coma for 7 days and found myself in a heavenly place. I saw myself as a child, barefoot, running in an immense expanse of a meadow with flowers never seen before. They smelled amazing. In front of me were majestic snow-capped mountains. The sky was an intense blue with the sun pleasantly warming the surrounding environment. Near me there was a stream, I couldn't resist putting my feet in it. I walked in the bed of the stream and saw the little fish darting between my ankles. I felt the breeze of the wind caressing my cheeks.

In front of me, I saw a large oak tree. As I headed towards it, I felt a sensation of protection. When I was at the base of the tree trunk, I saw it looking majestic with its immense branches stretched outward. It looked like it was embracing whoever arrived in that place. Leaning against its trunk to embrace it, this exchange occurred: I felt the sap of the tree flowing through my veins and I saw what had happened in the past compared to what the oak itself had experienced. I saw the birds that had lived in that tree, the storms it had faced, who had come to visit it. This projected me into a place in me that, although foreign, gave me a sense of peace and protection. After he had welcomed me and given me permission to see his life, he told me that I had to leave.

Reluctantly, I headed towards the other side of the meadow where I saw a railway track. At a certain point, a train passed with many empty carriages. I saw a woman in one of the windows. I noticed that she had long hair and was waving to me. Not understanding what that gesture meant, I saw in front of me a Roman-style arch from which an intense light was coming out. As I was about to cross that gap, I felt myself being hugged from behind by a woman whose face I did not see. She whispered in my left ear, 'It is not your time yet'.

I woke up from the coma on December 11, 1976 at 10 in the morning.
