Experience Description

Once I was seated in the armchair in the living room of my house, I began to lose consciousness. At that moment, the cleaning assistant was at my house, and I began to feel as if her voice was becoming more and more distant. I believe that at that moment, I lost consciousness and then I saw the edges of a silhouette come out of my body ; it was shaped like a skittle and of a deep wine/purple color. In a corner of the room, I saw a fairly wide black tunnel. In the upper left corner, there was a piece of green frame and in the upper right corner, a piece of black frame, both slightly protruding from the tunnel.

I felt that part of me was beginning to leave with that silhouette, and that in leaving the body, my authentic self was really inside that silhouette. The skittle shape quickly went towards the entrance of the tunnel and at that moment, I told myself internally, and it was as if a voice had come out of me: 'I DON'T WANT TO GO THERE', and at that moment, the skittle returned very quickly to my body. Little by little, I revived and regained consciousness.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Related to heart issues Life threatening event, but not clinical death I came from the street into my house very tired, after doing some shopping, feeling tremendously fatigued. I had time to sit in the armchair in the living room of my house, and then I lost consciousness. This event was related to my heart issues, and my overexertion.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? No I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal It's as if the only thing that existed at that moment was the tunnel and the silhouette coming out of my body. As if the rest of physical reality had ceased to matter, and I don't remember perceiving it.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? was alert during the experience, but my level of consciousness before and after the experience was low.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Faster than usual

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual The experience happened very quickly.

Were your senses More vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I heard myself yell, 'I DON'T WANT TO GO THERE,' from within, but I never yelled. It was as if I could actually hear myself thinking.

Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience I did not expect to find a dark tunnel, I had always expected to find a light, or that the light would be visible at the end of the tunnel.
