Experience Description

I was opening a door on a public utility, in a public barbecue area in park. I was asked to open door on electric barbeque, so a contractor for an on-going problem could check it. As I opened the door, electricity entered my left hand and welded me to door.

As I was electrified, I was engulfed by tunnels of jade and blue, similar to worm tunnels you see in time-travel movies. Time seemed to stand still. I was connected to power for about 5 seconds according to witnesses around me told me at the time. But it felt more like 20 to 30 seconds. Many things were going through my head at the time and being connected to the power for only 5 seconds totally made no sense to me and still does not.

There was no pain; I was transfixed by the beautiful colors around me. It then dawned on me that I was being electrified and tried to pull away. But could not, I tried a second time, no good, tried a third time and jammed my knees into the side of the structure, like a brick wall, and pushed myself away with great force I was flying through the air approximately 3 feet, landing on my back. The injuries I sustained were a burnt hand, sprained wrist, cut knees, burn mark on right wrist from power exiting, torn groin, and needing surgery. I also had muscle damage. An ambulance was called and I was transported to the hospital for further tests.
