Experience Description

I committed suicide Sept 2018. I was dead for a matter of minutes. However, I was brought back. I remember it clearly. I feel mine was different. I felt I was floating in a darkness. I wasn't scared. I had all these feelings like peace, that I was loved I was ok, I was safe. It was warm. It was all my feelings. I couldn't put together thoughts anymore. But others describe seeing tunnel or light.

Why was mine so different? I also have had paranormal experiences my whole life my mother (now deceased) told me I had a gift. I blocked a lot out from fear. I was tested and never diagnosed with schizophrenia or a disorder causing hallucinations. I also have vivid dreams at times and sleep paralysis. I have all my life. I also believe I have past lives two I can remember.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal It's a different level hard to explain in text or words. It's an overwhelming amount of feeling. I just WAS

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? Idk. I feel it was a different type of awareness not the same as consciousness we have now even. There was more feeling of things and just knowing. No other thoughts could even be formed

What was your religion prior to your experience? Do not know Raised Southern Baptist. Studied religion my first time in college so learned Buddhism Muslim etc. I was Mormon, Jehovah witness, pagan and atheist. I've tried them all.

What is your religion now? No comment Idk a mix of above. There is a universal energy, a supreme being , good and bad. Idk really

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience My beliefs have gone back and forth very mixed all my life

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Uncertain Because I just knew I was safe I just knew I was loved I just knew the peace. I felt them so strong I just knew. I didn't know any words or thoughts I didn't see or hear anyone.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes It is not an awareness or a logical way to explain. I felt like I was floating, it was all dark. U couldn't put together words or thoughts so u know your separate from the body the brain can't put it together but that's ok. Most NDErs will recognize these overwhelming feelings.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Uncertain Well I had abilities prior and still do to an extent.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? I will never forget that darkness and the overwhelming emotions

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I shared it with a friend about 3 months later and many times since

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes They all were people seeing tunnels and light. I felt mine was so different

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real The fact when I woke up at hospital when they said I had been dead. I know what I saw and felt it had to be real. Or maybe an extreme hallucination the brain produces because I was dying. I'm not sure

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real I feel it was however It could be something the brain produced. But it was so overwhelming it had to be real
