Experience Description

I was born and raised into a family of six children who regularly practiced the catholic faith. I joined the military when I was 17 and later worked as a police officer for the City of Oklahoma City, eventually reaching the rank of police lieutenant. While working as a detective, I went to night school and earned my juris doctorate. After passing the bar exam in Oklahoma I continued to work as a police lieutenant and practiced law part-time. During the time I worked both professions, I began to develop health issues where my blood pressure would fluctuate drastically throughout the day. This caused me issues with vision and loss of fine motor controls. I went to numerous doctors who could not identify the root cause but prescribed me a myriad of different prescriptions which only served to make me more ill. I had given up hope and did not care whether I lived or died.

It was in this state that I went to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family at my parent’s house in 2019. I was sitting on the sofa watching television when all of a sudden, everything faded to black. My family said I went limp on the sofa. I turned white to where they could see all the blood vessels in my body. They said I was completely unresponsive, so they called 911.

From my point of view, I thought I had fallen on the floor because I became conscious that I was lying on my back. I did not feel any of the emotional or physical pain I had been in. I was in a dark, endless space that seemed to have no beginning and no end. As I lay there, a cylinder of light appeared above me and to my right. I felt this loving presence coming from the light and heard a voice that said, 'Matt, you have lived a hard life and there would be no shame in giving up now. But if you fight through, I have a plan.' I remember being able to think about my decision and the thing I thought about was wanting to spend more time with my children.

As soon as I made the decision to come back, I awoke and was on a gurney being loaded into an ambulance. I tried to sit. I said I was fine and the paramedic pushed me back down on the gurney, saying, 'You're not fine.' They took me with lights and sirens blaring to the emergency room. At the emergency room, the doctors ran a battery of tests and couldn’t identify the source of the incident. They referred me to a cardiologist to follow up with me within a few days to run more tests.

My dad was in the emergency room with my little sister. My dad was a senior executive with the department of defense. He became upset when they said they were going to release me. He told them, 'My son died in my living room and we are not leaving until you can find out why.' The doctor said, 'Your son probably just passed out.' My dad replied that he was in the military and played sports his whole life and knew well what it looked like when someone passed out. He reiterated that I did pass out but had died and come back to life. I told my dad everything was going to be fine and we left.

The following week my cardiologist ran a battery of tests including a table tilt test. After the table tilt test the cardiologist diagnosed me with vasovagal dysfunction disorder. He explained that this is when my fight or flight response was activated instead of a signal being sent to my legs to constrict the blood vessels a signal was sent that caused them to dilate resulting in all my blood pooling in my legs depriving my vital organs of oxygen when I was under stress or exertion. The cardiologist prescribed beta-blockers and Zoloft to try and keep the signal from firing.

The medications the cardiologist put me on dramatically reduced my quality of life and for the first time in my life all I could think of was suicide. I kept telling my family the pills were going to kill me. My family said I needed to keep taking the pills because my cardiologist said without them I would die. I quit discussing it with my family and stopped taking my medication. Within months, I felt better than I had in years. I made sure I drank plenty of water to keep my blood volume up and reduced stress through thought meditation and cannabis use. I was eventually able to eliminate cannabis use and maintain stasis entirely through meditation.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Illness Clinical death (cessation of breathing or heart function) I had been having medical issues for several years prior to incident that doctors could not explain. After testing following the incident I was diagnosed with vasovagal dysfunction disorder.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

Did you feel separated from your body? No No

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal If felt like a reminder of what pure love is and that everything is connected.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? While I was in the darkness and the light began shining through.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning I was completely unaware of time or that it existed.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm It was like an endless void of complete darkness but felt familiar and comfortable.

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a definite conscious decision to return to life I made a conscious decision to return to life and immediately awoke on earth upon making the decision.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience I believed there was a God after I knew there was a higher power that transcends any form or belief man can conjure up.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes Less attachment to people and material objects.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin It was a voice that spoke to me that seemed familiar but unrecognizable. It seemed to speak directly into my consciousness in an all encompassing completeness.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes I had a feeling when the light shown in the void that everything is connected.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes I felt a complete connection in a conscious power greater than myself.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes When the light shown it was like a feeling of complete love and connected-ness.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life I no longer feel attached to objects or people. I accept the experiences that flow into my life, appreciate them while they are happening, and learn what I can from experiences.

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? I have shifted my priorities and values which has made me feel disconnected to a lot of people I knew from before. Yes

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes The manner in which communication happens inside the NDE is such a fuller and more complete communication than I have ever experienced on earth.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience It was the most profound experience I had ever had in this life at the time it occurred.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes I can perform energy healing and channeling since my experience.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? Going from a belief of something greater to a knowing of something greater was the most profound shift for me.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes It was several weeks before I shared with my wife and several months before I shared with my parents. When I shared with my mom she told me my grandmother had a near death experience that I did not know about prior to sharing mine with her.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real It felt more real than my everyday life but I was initially scared to share it because I might be thought of as crazy. After subsequent experiences I do not feel uncomfortable sharing it at all.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real Other experiences I have at after had contributed to further reinforcing my NDE as a real experience.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes I have visions and experiences that reminded me of elements of my NDE.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience? It literally changed my life almost completely and for the best. During the process of change it was extremely difficult but led to my firm conviction that everything happens for us for a reason and we just need to be patient to wait for the understanding at times.

After my near death experience, I began feeling a presence at times and hearing a voice. One day I was sitting in my hot tub outside and all of a sudden dozens of birds began circling in a cylinder formation above me. I felt the same presence from my NDE and heard the same voice. I asked the voice, 'Who are you?' The voice replied, 'I am the unknowable, indescribable force behind all things but if you feel the need to call me a name you may call me ABBA.' I asked the voice who am I? The voice told me that my ancient name is El Shaddai, but in this time and this place you are Matthew Ryan Mc_____.' I then asked what my purpose was. The voice said, 'You will be the most famous person in the history of the world.' I told the voice that I did not want that. The voice laughed and said, 'You do not have a choice.' The voice then told me while I was in this form, he had Michael watching over me.

I continued to pray and meditate every day and resigned my law license and retired from the police department which I had been on FMLA from. I continued to help out with a laboratory I owned that was ISO 17025 where we primarily performed environmental safety testing for medical marijuana in Oklahoma. As I worked promoting the lab, I would meet people and sometimes tell them about my NDE. When I would tell them about it, numerous people said they would get the chills when I spoke. This was unsettling to my business partners, who eventually forced me out of participating with the business. I went through numerous experiences and thought if I was going to become famous, it would be through accumulating wealth based on how this world works. Slowly, I became less and less attached to material possessions and came to learn they hold no true value.

After my NDE, sometimes when I felt the presence of other entities I would do what I can only describe as channeling although I do not believe a word exists that encapsulates the process. Sometimes when I channel, people feel a physical effect. Sometimes they have visions, and sometimes do not feel a discernible effect. One such time, I felt a presence tell me to call my friend Julian. Julian answered the call and when I asked how he was doing he said horrible and he almost didn’t answer my call but something told me he should. Julian went on to explain his mom recently died of COVID and it had put him at odds with his family because he had been vocal against following the doctor's advice and placing his mom on a ventilator. I told Julian his mom was not gone and that once we 'die' we really just transform into a different form. I told him the human senses can only detect a small fraction of what is going on around us and his mom wanted him to find peace. I spoke to Julian in December 2021 and did not hear from him for several months after.

The next time I heard from Julian was in February 2022. He called me and asked if I had access to liquid mercury since I owned a lab. When I asked him what he needed it for, he said you may think I am crazy but on 02/22/2022 he had a vision that showed him a pyramid made of copper with liquid mercury underneath. I told him I did not think he was crazy at all and told him I had a series of visions including one on 02/22/2022. I told him when I had visions they happened sometimes in meditation but other times when I was awake with my eyes open and it felt like I was in two places at the same time. I told him my vision on 02/22/2022 I went to the dark void place like in my NDE and say a giant figure that had human features but was much larger and had a much bigger skull. The being communicated with me telepathically and told me to remember who I was.

On the Sunday following 02/22/2022 I had another vision where I felt an intense energy hitting my body and I went into a tunnel with an infinite number of drawers of information. After I went through the tunnel of information I turned into a phoenix and flew a love the earth. I burst into flames and as my ashes spread among the cosmos I could hear every prayer in the world at the same time. After those visions I felt I had been downloaded with knowledge I had never learned before. I told Julian that the Temple of the Feathered Serpent in Tenochtitlan was found to have an underground tunnel with a water line in the tunnel. In the center of the tunnel a large reservoir of liquid mercury was found. There were numerous other ancient sites in Mesoamerica where liquid mercury was found. Also, in India ancient Vedic texts were found describing using liquid mercury as a power source and in fact was used to make lingams in their temples. I told Julian modern scientists have confirmed the potential use of mercury in the Franck Hertz experiment where it was shown that when mercury is put under a vacuum it can absorb 4.9 electrons from molecules that pass through it. Mercury can be made to vortex upon the application of an electromagnetic field and in an experiment by Dr Woods and Dr Loomis in 1937 it showed that when a ultrasonic field is applied to water and mercury it produces an energy output eleven magnitudes greater than the energy input.

Another significant experience I had involved my friends Stephanie and Susan who are both registered nurses. I began channeling and Stephanie had visions while I channeled. Susan walked into the room and I told her I felt the presence of her ancestors and asked if she wanted me to channel for her. I began channeling and Stephanie saw two beings place their hands on Susan’s shoulders as if they were praying over her. As I continued to channel Susan felt an energy coursing through her that was almost too intense for Susan to withstand.

The experience with Susan and Stephanie was one of many such experiences I have had since my NDE because it correlated with an incident I had in New Mexico. I met a guy named Diego in New Mexico that also got visions while I channeled. Diego and I went to the Taos Pueblo and ended up in a shop where I felt a presence. I asked the shop owner if she would like me to channel and she replied yes. The woman felt a powerful presence when I channeled and as I channeled Diego saw two beings place their hands on the shop owners shoulders. This struck me as significant because he had never met Stephanie yet gave an identical description of what he saw.

The other reason the incident with Susan and Stephanie was significant was because I had another person describe a similar physical affect when I channeled to what Susan described. I was in Arvada Colorado visiting my brother. I was out on a walk with my nephew when I felt called to go into a crystal store. I asked the manager if she would like be to channel for her and she replied she did. When I was channeling the woman felt a surge of energy flowing through her. She began weeping uncontrollably saying he had been praying for a sign that she was on the right path and my experience with her was an answer to her prayer. She thanked my nephew profusely for giving her time with me. I when back to my nephews house and his maternal grandmother was at the house. I told her about the experience my nephew and I had just had at the store. She relayed a story that after she lost her son she was struggling with it. One day she got a phone call and when she answered it her son’s voice told her that he was fine. She said she quit telling people the story because people thought she was crazy. I told her there is far more that people don’t know about how the universe works that what they do know.

While I was in New Mexico I had another vision. My visions have a completely differently feeling to them than anything else including dreams. They always have colors that are more vibrant than anything I have ever seen on earth and after a vision I feel this deep radiating feeling like I just had the best massage and it last for an hour or more after the vision. In one vision I was standing outside when a saucer shaped object appeared above me in the sky that had a rainbow flame going all around the object. I was transported inside the object where I saw many beings including a white elven like being that I felt compelled to follow. As the being led me through the ship I passed a being that look like a pig but was standing like a human and wearing a suit. There seemed to be a recognition of the being as I passed by it.

I found this vision significant because of an experience I had in October 2023 with another nephew. I felt a presence and asked my nephew if he would like me to channel. He said yes and he had visions. In the first vision, he saw his deceased father walking in a field with a beautiful sun behind him. In the second vision it took him to an old house he used to live in and his dad was cooking him breakfast. My nephew was astonished because he said he could smell the food in the vision and his dad gave him a hug telling him everything was going to be okay. My nephew said he could actually feel the hug. In the third vision he saw a bright white light. He said a hybrid being appeared and said his name was Michael. The being then flashed an image of a tattoo I have on my back of the archangel Michael and then the being returned to his hybrid form. The being showed my nephew imaging which made my nephew feel he was being told to help protect his brother.

A few weeks later I felt a presence when I was with the same nephew. He asked me to channel and my nephew said Michael grabbed his hand and showed him images of the past with his father. I asked my nephew what Michael looked like and he said he was in his hybrid form which he described as a cross between a human and a pig. I immediately recognized his description as the being in the vision I had in New Mexico. I had another channeling event with my nephew in June 2024 where he said Jesus appeared to him twice and the second time Jesus was with a lot of people he thought were his ancestors and the sky was dark. Through my experiences in my NDE and after I have shifted from a belief to a knowledge. I know there is a higher power that loves us all greatly and has set up all our experiences to teach us to overcome fear, empathy, and the many faces of love. I know that we are meant to learn from all our experiences whether we deem them as good or bad and the sooner we recognize that things happen for us and not to us life becomes much more bearable. I know that life continues eternally and to try our best to learn as much as we can from our experiences in the times that we have here on earth. I learned that it does not matter if people believe me because everyone will eventually have their own experiences that will lead them to their own truth. I have also learned that the power greater than me has a plan for me that I have no clue what that plan is and have had to learn to be comfortable with the and focus on enjoying the ride.
