Experience Description

I was in a park, but it was very old and abandoned. The only thing there was a metal swing set. There was lots of vegetation, and there were plants growing everywhere. It was super sunny and the whole scene was bathed in sunlight. The main colors were green and yellow and it was safe, warm, and comfortable. There was a guy there, around my age, with brown hair, and we were swinging. I remember it as being the best feeling in the world. Just total bliss!

I started to walk down a dark tunnel, but it wasn't scary, it, too, was warm and cozy. I heard my mom calling my name. The last thing I saw was when I turned around to look at the beginning of the tunnel, from where the light from the park was coming. I felt very, very upset that I was gone, and in fact, was about to complain to my mom that she had taken me away from there. Then I saw her face and realized something was very wrong. That, of course, was the fact that I was unconscious.

The experience included: Tunnel

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Yes I went through the tunnel, but I was coming through the lighted end. The last sight was when I looked back and saw the light. But, the light wasn't just plain white. It was coming from the park where I was before, so I could see the yellow from the sunlight, and green from the plants.

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Uncertain There was a boy my age, but I didn't recognize him. Maybe I did know him, I just forgot him, maybe I will know him, or maybe I never did or never will. I just don't know.

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? An unusually bright light

The experience included: Strong emotional tone

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I felt blissful and incredibly happy. It was the best experience in the world (that is until I woke up), similar to the happiness you feel as a kid.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? When I am swinging, because that was such a great moment. The most meaningful/significant is when I am looking back in the tunnel. Looking at the light filled me with hope, but as soon as I realized I was gone, I felt upset, and I always feel the need to say that I felt upset.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes About two years later I shared with some of my relatives in the car. Most of them didn't really hear it, but the one that did laughed when I talked about the light and the tunnel. When I told my parents they were immediately awed, and said that I should write it down.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was probably real I do think it was real, but who knows? I could have been imagining the entire thing.
