Experience Description After my heart stopped, I was awake and sitting in the transfusion chair. I got up from the seat and turned around 180 degrees to see my body still in the chair. I also saw the nurses rush in to revive me. Everything looked like someone turned up the brightness on everything while slowly reducing the definition. I could see the nurse run in with the adrenaline and inject it into my IV. Then, all of a sudden, I was back in my body. I was really confused as to where I was when coming to. The whole out of body experience lasted several seconds to a minute. Ever since then, I have had almost no dreams or nightmares when I sleep. Background Information: Gender: Male Date NDE Occurred: 2001 NDE Elements: At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Allergic Reaction. Clinical death (cessation of breathing or heart function) I was receiving a blood transfusion as part of my course of treatment for leukemia (ALL). The nurses filtered the blood improperly and I had an allergic reaction. My skin became suddenly hot and itchy all over and then my heart stopped. How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant The experience included: Out of body experience Did you feel separated from your body? Yes I got up from the seat and turned around 180 degrees to see my body still in the chair. Normal consciousness and alertness. It was not different At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? Right as the adrenaline was administered Were your thoughts speeded up? No Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual. The experience felt as though it lasted several minutes where, in reality, it only lasted maybe 60 seconds. Were your senses More vivid than usual? Yes I knew there was at least SOMETHING after death, even if only briefly. Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? Since my NDE, I no longer dream. Also, my experience encouraged me to practice guided meditation and spiritual projection, which became easier as I'd already achieved it in my NDE Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience. Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Uncertain I'm invincible. I've been stabbed, electrified at high voltage while welding, hit by a bus, a pick-up truck, and a machete, and I still haven't died. Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? I now can confirm that the body and the soul are completely different things, and that the body is a prison for the soul. Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I shared my story immediately afterwards, and people are generally interested and sometimes reassured about the afterlife Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? I never doubted it as my Out of body experience was confirmed by those present for the event What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real. Yes DMT was very similar in the visual brightness, vivid colors, and the feeling of falling out of my body. However, with DMT, I saw a woman made of fractal shapes who was loving and peaceful, and I did not experience her during my NDE
