Experience Description

I was trying to get home, running late for curfew, and driving home on county roads late at night. It had been raining, so the roads were slippery and it was extremely foggy. A car was tailgating me and it made me nervous. So, I sped up and kept speeding up. I still felt like the car was following too closely. On an S- turn, I felt the back end of the car coming up around. I had just had a driver's training course that taught me exactly how to correct this.

Yet, before I could act, I heard a powerful voice and felt like I didn't have a choice in what to do. At the same time, I also had a most peaceful sense of surrender come over me. The voice told me, 'Take your hands off the wheel.' Time slowed down as the back end of the car came around. It felt like I was up above and watching the car. In slow motion, the back end of the car came around and shot across the road. The back end crashed into a hydro-pole.

The next moment, I awoke to find that the car was entirely crunched up around the pole. The pole had torn through the entire car and was now beside me. The entire car was totaled with the exception of my little square driver's seat. I was completely unscratched. The rest is hazy, how I got out, how the ambulance and fire truck came. I remember smelling gas everywhere. A woman approached me but there was never a sign of the car behind me or if it even existed.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

Did you feel separated from your body? Yes. I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal I had a clear knowing, clarity, no question, strength, power, and connection.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? I don't know that I've ever been so alert, clear, or sure of hearing from a direct instruction as the moment I felt the back end of the car slipping out behind me.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning. Time slowed down, stopped, to the point I left time and space

Were your senses More vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. It was foggy and the bright light behind me made it almost impossible to see.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Peace. Then fear when came back to my body.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt no longer in conflict with nature

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? Everything about the universe. Just a sense of trust and surrender

What is your religion now? Other or several faiths Open, see many similarities, still believe in Christian faith to some degree, pagan, new age etc. I fell we learn from many Faiths

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience. I was questioning faith at the time. I felt it was an angelic presence

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes New trust

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin. Clear strong deliberate trustworthy, felt more feminine or non-gender specific

Did you see deceased or religious spirits? I sensed their presence

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? No

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? No

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes. It wasn't me that acted and a voice came from somewhere otherworldly

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes I felt an overwhelming sense something or someone else took over.

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? An afterlife probably exists. Uncertain. I felt something else took over and a connection to something bigger than my earthly world

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Uncertain. I think I've always had access to psychic abilities

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The voice. Also, I question the light and the existence of the other car

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes Days after. Still now. People don't really give reaction. Feels like people don't know what to say

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real. I wanted to die before that. My grandmother pointed out God had a bigger plan for me.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real It happened. It was real. I've got a mission.
