Experience Description

On October 08, 2020 I went to a local emergency room due to being sick for a few days, and worried that I might have Covid-19. All Covid-19 tests came back negative and no reason could be found for my illness. I was then sent to a local hospital to have testes done on my heat due to several abnormal ECG tests that were done at the emergency room service.

After two days in the hospital nothing could be found wrong with my heart. To be sure all was well my doctor and I decided that we would do a heart catheterization. During the procedure the dye that was injected did not go where it was supposed to due to an extra artery that I have. The doctor then injected another dose of dye into my heart. At that time my heart began to quiver. The nurses and doctor began to yell at me, telling me to cough. I tried to cough but then passed out.

Immediately, I came to be in a large open space. The ground was like a pure blueish colored jewel or glass. The air was filled with a sort of bluish swirling fog or haze. I saw figures form and then dissipate within the fog. There was a horizon very far away but in this horizon was a brilliant pure light. It was as bright as a star but did not hurt my eyes. I knew that this light was God and Jesus, and could feel the Holy Spirit flowing through everything.

I was escorted by a large being. I felt like this being was very powerful but it did not scare me. When we moved we seemed to glide from place to place and the being did not turn as we moved but always faced me. It did not have a face but like the souls in the fog was just there. Like a silhouette. It showed me the throne of God, and then it showed me two tall pillars. The pillars seemed to be made of stone and they rose up forever. There was what seemed to be vines or writing on the pillars. Beyond the pillars was a walkway that resembled a low bridge. I do not recall where this bridge went to.

While we were moving, souls would come up to me. The only two that I remember were my grandparents who had died some years before. I remember the feeling from them was reassurance that everything was OK.

During my time there, it felt as if I were there for hours. Although I was clinically dead for 5 minutes. I felt a great sense or peace and love. I could tell that this feeling flowed from the bright light which is God/Jesus. I could also see the Holy Spirit flowing through everything in the form of golden rays, if that makes sense. Everything else was a shade of blue. The only color was The bright light that was God, and the rays from him that was the Holy Spirit.

After what seemed like hours I was told that I had to go back. I said that I wanted to stay but the large being lifted what would have been hands and pushed me back to this world.

The whole time I was there, this being was talking to me. I received knowledge and instructions, but I cannot remember exactly what it was.

I failed to mention that no audible sounds or words were spoken. Everything was conveyed as feelings. I could feel everyone's thoughts all at once. As if I was plugged into some heavenly network. It was amazing.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes CPR given allergic reaction to contrast IV dye while undergoing heart cath Clinical death (cessation of breathing or heart function) Doctors thought I had a heart attack at some point due to an abnormal ECG. My heart, while abnormally large, with an extra vein, and a fast beat is totally healthy.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Both pleasant AND distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? No I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal It was as if the absence of human emotions and a body made thought crisper.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? Toward the end.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual Faster

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I wear glasses and some things are blurry at times. My sight there was beyond 20/20.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I don't recall hearing anything. Everything was felt.

Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere, as if by ESP? No

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? No

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Yes My grandparents.

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes God radiated a bright white light that penetrated everything, but did not hurt to look at.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm See previous entry of my experience.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Peace and love.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you have a feeling of joy? Incredible joy

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt united or one with the world

God, Spiritual and Religion:

What was your religion prior to your experience? Christian- Protestant At the time of my experience I had been saved for a few years at that time. I was questioning what heaven actually was and praying for clarification. I got my answer.

Have your religious practices changed since your experience? Yes I'm a better Christian.

What is your religion now? Christian- Protestant I was raised in church and thought I had received salvation at 13 years of age. I went on to explore other religions such as wicca, and Buddhist, but not in great detail. I came to know Jesus around the age of 43. I now attend church regularly and try to live as a Christian.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes I no longer value possessions as much, but value peace more.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin. I encountered a very large and tall being that was in sort of a silhouette form.

Did you see deceased or religious spirits? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? Yes Jesus

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? No

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes We are all connected spiritually.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes I saw God.

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? No

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? An afterlife definitely exists Yes Heaven is real.

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? Yes In the end nothing matters but love, and our relationship with God.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes Love is powerful.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life I have become very interested in neuroscience and how our brain and mind interact with our spirit. I am now training to become a counselor and life coach to help other find the peace that I've found.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes It is hard to explain exactly what I saw and felt in our worldly terms.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The feeling of love and peace.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I woke up telling everyone that heaven is real. Most have taken the news well.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes I heard the usual stories of a tunnel and bright light, but that's all. I don't believe that influenced what happened to me.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real I had doubts here and there for a few weeks and didn't want to talk about it for a while, but it was real. It felt very real.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real It was clear and I remember details. Not like having a dream.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes I have begun spiritual meditation. During one session I went into a trance like state and felt the peace I felt in Heaven, but only for a moment.
