Experience Description

Flat lined - went to a place that was beautiful lit - like the sunshine but much prettier and more golden (kind of like sepia tones). Seemed like a neighborhood and I was shown around to all the people I loved and missed and they were all so happy.

I remember being surprised like Oh, Hi - wow you're here how nice and smiling very broadly.

Remember my dad sitting on a stoop of sorts with his hand outstretched to me. He was many years younger than he was when he died and I was just a toddler reaching up to him.

I know I saw many people but can't remember who they were specifically except for my dad.

Next thing I know the emergency medical technician is saying 'You died and we brought you back.' I said I saw my dad and that I couldn't die now because it was Christmas time and that would be too difficult a memory for my daughter to bear every Christmas.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? When I was gone moving around the neighborhood or whatever it was. I seem to think I was able to go vast distances very quickly to see what I needed to see or they wanted me to see.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning Can't.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. Golden glow color that I have never seen before just beautiful.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I don't remember actually hearing anything I just knew everyone was happy and smiling and at peace as was I.

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Yes Many others who were loved ones but can only name my dad. No words were spoken.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Very calm, very happy, smiling from ear to ear. The feeling of oh yeah this is great.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes Spatial elements, the feeling of complete peace and happiness - the light.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The overwhelming harmony of it all. The smiles on everyone's faces, the peace, and beautiful light.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes Shared with others within twenty-four hours. They were interested and curious - wish I could remember more.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes I had heard of it and had an experience related to me by my father before he died. I don't think it affected my experience.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real I knew it happened and it has been a week and I still know it happened.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real I feel different inside - kind of like 'floaty'.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience? Would love to undergo hypnotherapy to try and remember more. Don't fear death - it is peaceful, loving and welcomed when it happens.
