Experience Description

I was jumped by multiple individuals and badly beaten. I understand I was fighting for my life as well. I was swinging as hard and fast as I possibly could to get out of the situation. I was basically on overdrive, autopilot attempting to defend myself while experiencing the near death experience. My entire life passed before my eyes-every single moment. It was also extremely peaceful and calming for me. I felt no pain whatsoever despite being severely beaten. Despite the beating, the near death experience was a very positive experience and only reinforced my belief in the afterlife.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Criminal attack 'Illness, trauma or other condition not considered life threatening' I was jumped by several individuals and badly beaten. I took a blow to the head via a baseball bat.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

Did you feel separated from your body? No No

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal I was very alert and conscious during the experience and fully aware. I seemed to be more aware of my life, the bigger picture of what life is, and why we are here. It was the most significant moment of my life thus far.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual

Were your senses more vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I'm not sure how I can experience every moment of my life in such a short period of time. The attack only lasted a minute or so but during this brief time I experienced a life review that covered my whole life.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I don't recall hearing anything. I was solely focused on my life review. I could not focus on anything else.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience I always believed in the afterlife-Heaven and Hell. But, i had no heard anything about NDE's or life reviews prior to my experience.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes I am convinced and hold strong in my belief in God and the afterlife-and a purpose to each of our lives.

I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience While i may not remember anything that happened during this year of my life-this memory will stick with me always.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I've only shared it a couple of times with very few people. I recently shared my near death experience with my father who just passed from cancer last week, in an attempt to calm and bring him some level of peace.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real My experience was real and no one can ever convince me otherwise. It was a positive experience.
