Experience Description

I was nervous. No child had received the surgery and I was the first one for this experimental surgery. When I entered the operating room, I panicked. It didn't help that in the corner of the room were 30 or so medical students there to watch the procedure. We quickly did pre-anesthetic protocol and they inserted my IV. I told the anesthesiologist to, 'Knock me out now.'

The operation went well and I was brought into the intensive care unit (ICU) to be monitored. I spoke to a man in a surgical mask who told me to, 'Keep fighting and wait.' He had no idea if the surgery was a success or what would happen. He was kind, warm, and compassionate. He said I was a fighter and should keep pushing and that I was going to do incredible things in the world. Then I closed my eyes.

When I reopened my eyes, to my left was something resembling a man. I saw a tall, powerful, 7-foot tall figure walk through the double doors and into my ICU room. He was holding what looked like a syringe of lava in his hand. I started to shout, 'Who are you and what is that?' I got no response as the figure pushed the liquid into my IV line. I felt fire in my veins and woke up screaming.

Hovering over me was a nurse who was about to shock me with an AED machine. Next to her was another nurse that was preparing epinephrine via a cardiac syringe. They both started to scream, 'You were dead and had no pulse!' Five minutes later a crash team and trauma unit come into my room expecting to take over the CPR and try to resuscitate me. The elevator had a technical issue and they got stuck. So a secondary crash unit had to take the stairs and run to my room which decreased my chances of survival by about 90%.

I turned to the nurses and asked, 'Where is he? Someone just pushed medication into my IV.' They both responded that it was just us three in the room and there was no one else there.

I do not know who the man was earlier was but he was not my doctor. The nurses told me I had arrived in recovery and everyone was waiting for me to wake up. My vitals started to crash. I was dead and my heart had stopped. All I know is that something, or several things, intervened because I am alive.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? No. I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? Less consciousness and alertness than normal. I felt like I was slipping away, losing my grip on reality. Then, the fire and pain brought me back.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? The entire time.

Were your thoughts speeded up? No

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? No

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. My vision was the same. It felt like a memory. It felt like having lunch with your family. It all felt real and intentional.

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? No

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? No

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm. I think I was in a hospital for non-human beings. I got transported into some mystical or unearthly hospital where there were different levels of doctors who could help me at the time. I had to go there, to come back here.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? At first peace and comfort and kindness. Then it shifted to impending terror and dread in the later part of the experience.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Relief or calmness

Did you have a feeling of joy? No

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt united or one with the world

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? No

Did scenes from your past come back to you? No

God, Spiritual and Religion:

What was your religion prior to your experience? Jewish

Have your religious practices changed since your experience? Yes I have become incredibly spiritual.

What is your religion now? Jewish

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience. I would never have believed anything about God, Higher powers, and vice versa. I actually felt quite the opposite, abandoned by God and some higher power.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? No

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin. I saw two beings. The all-black, tall nonhuman and the nonhuman doctor in a mask. He seemed aged. The all-black, tall non man seemed to be wearing some sort of armor, like dark obsidian and he had a strong sense of purpose and protection. The old man felt like a very warm and kind, genuine old man.

Did you see deceased or religious spirits? No

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? Yes A couple of years ago I saw a physic who revealed that the all-black nonhuman gave me the name 'Melicore' which was one of the three magi who saved Jesus. I was also advised to not latch onto names.

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Yes. That it was not my time to go, that I should continue to fight, and that there was more work for me to do in the world.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes I experienced some warrior in all-black armor shove fire into my veins. The nurses could not perceive this because it was mystical.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes These two beings felt like friends and that I knew them. They felt like we were paying each other a visit, and that I was to return there when I am needed. But they were definitely non-spirit beings or non-human spirits. They were something else, and powerful.

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Yes I felt like something intervened because I had a special purpose that I am not currently aware of or have fulfilled.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? Yes I recalled bits and pieces. It was not a perfect message and there was still a lot for me to 'figure out'.

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? Yes These two beings felt like friends and that I knew them. They felt like were we paying each other a visit to each information and that I was to return there when I am needed. But they were definitely non spirit beings or non-human spirits, they were something else, and powerful.

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? No

During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? Yes I was instructed to never give up and that there would be more challenges ahead.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? No

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes Something that was a man, but not a man. He injected something that looked and felt like fire being poured into my body. I could not or was deeply afraid to verbalize this at the time.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience as accurately as other life events that occurred around the time of the experience

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes I have been getting signs and messages that I don't think are entirely mine. I'm still working on this.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The part where some figure in armor shoved fire in my body and sent me screaming. That was a pain I have never felt in my life. It was like all the trillions of cells in body at once were set on fire.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I have only told 4 people. They all believe me because they are my parents or a Psychic and I had a hard childhood with a lot of sickness and illness.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely not real. Just a firm and full denial. None of that happened, that's not possible, nothing made sense. It was not from this world. That does not happen.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real. A lot of work in therapy and with a trusted Psychic.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes I have had other experiences. One was that I was in a car crash, and saw the same figure in armor appear and intervene. This was a couple of years ago. My car was going downhill and the road had turned to ice. I was about to crash into a tree at 30 MPH. Out of the corner of my eye my car moved and was perfectly angled to hit the empty passenger side of my car. The car was totaled, I spin, my car stops at the guard rail before flipping over into the river. Luckily a bystander arrived in a car from downhill and checked on me. I know what I saw and that all black figure was there and that car moved or I would have died, again.
