Leaving my boyfriend's house (at the time,) I was driving too fast down a country road that I was not familiar with, in a 1971 Volkswagen bug. There were no lights, reflectors, etc. Approximately four feet from the end of road, I was still going forty-five mph and could not stop in time. To me, as soon as I hit, I opened the door and stepped onto the road, no pain, holding my face. I stood under what I thought was a street lamp. Three women came and said they heard the crash. They laid me down and one kneeled at my hip level, the other at about knee level, and the third at my feet facing me. At some point, one of the women told me she was going to go get a pillow and another woman was going to call for help. I'm not sure what happened to the other woman. I came to, on the ground, my boyfriend screaming my name. I vaguely remember the ambulance showing up and the forty-five minute ride to the hospital. I had bent the steering wheel in half with my face, and knocked the windshield out with the back of my head. The impact of the crash had buckled the back half of the car. I remember being wheeled through the emergency room and the medics and doctors talking around me. One saying he didn't know how I was not dead. I'm not sure how many days had passed since the accident, but when I told my version of what happened, no one knew what I was talking about or who the ladies were. My mother said I was late for curfew that night and she just didn't feel right. She called my boyfriend's home and he and his grandmother went looking, and found me approximately a mile from their home, out cold on the ground.Immediately after the accident, I became very paranoid and in doctors terms began 'hallucinating'. I was immediately put on medication for possible schizophrenia. I am not however, schizophrenic. I had dealt with depression a bit at that point, but that is all. Since then, I have had too many experiences, as far as knowing things that were going to happen, of people I had not met yet, and more.
