Experience Description

We drove to the hospital, which is only about 5 minutes from our house. We arrived, checked in, and were ready to enjoy the birth of our son. This was my third child, so childbirth was nothing new to me. We went to the room and awaited the birth. Our child didn't seem to wish to come out. The doctor then said I would have to have a c-section. I said, 'Okay, that's fine. Just please get him out so he's safe and okay!" I was so ready to see my boy! The c-section went well, I saw my boy when the doctor raised him up to show me he was beautiful. We then were moved to the recovery room. I was breast-feeding him when I began to see a gray dimming around the outside of my vision. I told the nurse that everything was looking a little gray around the edges. She look at me with a hurried importance as she took my blood pressure. It was very, very low.

They rushed me back into the surgery room to see what was wrong. I was bleeding internally. They fixed it all up and then I was in ICU for about a week to recover. During the time they were working on me, I was in what I thought was a dream-like state.

I was in a very large field of tall grass with flowers. There was a circle of trees all around. It was lovely! I could hear the sound of a tribal drum. It was not a heartbeat sound; nothing like that. I had this overwhelming feeling to find where the sound was coming from. I stood there just listening for a moment. I began to walk in the direction I thought I heard the sound. It was like the sound was calling me to come and find it. I kept walking, never finding where it was coming from.

I ended up back in my body. Although, it was beautiful place there, I also love being here too. I'm grateful for the experience I had but the only reason I could say it was a NDE is that when I went back to the doctors for a checkup, he told me that I lost a lot of blood. When they opened back up my stomach, the blood just all poured out. He told me I died on that table. After three births, the doctor and I were pretty close friends by then. I don't tell other people these kinds of things, but I knew you would want to know. He said these words with tears in his eyes, so I know he was telling the truth. I told him, 'Thank you so very much for saving me; you will never know how much I appreciate it.' I didn't see what others saw; no people, no past or future life flashes, etc. I just saw that beautiful field and heard the drumming. I believe the music brought me back. I have always love art, science and music. But, I would have to say that music tops the list.

I have also had many strange and unusual things happen during my lifetime that occurred when I was young and that still occur today. Whatever these are called, 'gods, spirits, aliens,' I know there are other things taking place. I'm not sure how to use the right word, if there is even a right word. I can only explain to the best of my ability what I saw, or what my mind thinks it saw.

As of the moment, I have two more chemo treatments left. I was diagnosed in December of 2023 with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma; it's been a long and amazing journey. The day before I was about to receive my first treatment, the nurse wrote 'Chemotherapy' on the schedule board for the next day. That night, I went to sleep. In the morning, when I woke up, there was that word on the board just looking at me. Then I saw a tiny light, right in the center. There was no light in the room at the time except for the TV which was on the same wall as the board. In that moment of seeing that little light, I noticed the word 'Mother.' How lovely, I thought. So, I call it mother earth's healing water. I love water more than music. That says a lot to me.
