My life at that time was in ruins: abused almost by everyone I knew; no self-respect, not married and pregnant at eighteen.I went to the hospital for an abortion. Abortion was considered to be a simple procedure, so the vitals were not monitored. After the anesthetic was introduced to my body and I lost my consciousness, I started to feel the pain. It seemed like forever. Then the pain start to subside and at the same time I have noticed the motion. I was moving through a narrow and somewhat dark hallway. I had mixed feelings at that moment: I was glad that the pain was going away; and fear of what was coming. The tunnel I traveled was rather curvy. The further I went, the faster I went, until I saw the light. The light was ultra-white and bright. It made my fear go away. At some point, I entered the light. I saw myself from above. Most importantly, I knew what had happened; it seemed I knew everything. In a profound way, I had no body weight, no emotional attachments, only the ultimate Peace. I had no questions, no wonders, NO FEARS, no regrets; I was home.Meanwhile, I was being transferred to the recovery room that I shared with nineteen others girls. I was following my body to the room. Nurses were leaving the room. When one of them had stopped, turned around, he came to my bed and took my hand (I believe, he checked my pulse), than he called others. Then there was darkness. Next thing I know, I am conscious with an IV in my arm.
