Experience Description My wife and I had driven to the other side of the state the day before we were to pick up a puppy from the breeder. We had checked into a room at a bed and breakfast. We got dinner and brought it back to the room. We ate and I was socializing with the operators. We were outside smoking and learning about each other. I went back to the room and was speaking with my wife, when I started vomiting. I remember telling her that I was sorry. I remember my chair being tipped over and her yelling for help. The operators were then talking about calling 911. The next thing I remember is being put on a gurney and taken to the ambulance. Next, I remember being put on a helicopter. Then the paramedics were saying that they had to shock me. I'm assuming they did. The next thing I saw was that everything was dark. There was no end to the darkness except for the light that was shining down from above and on to my body. There were paramedics all around my body except for my head. They were kneeling down while working on my body. I, on the other hand, was on both knees about 5 feet away. I kept yelling at myself, 'LIVE! Just keep fighting!' over and over. I woke up in the intensive care unit (ICU) while intubated. The staff were telling me to relax as I was vomiting and trying not to drown. Then they gave me a shot. When I woke up the next time, I was no longer intubated. The nurse told me what happened. A couple of days later, I was moved into a regular room. Our friends drove out to pick up my wife and I from the hospital. We drove back to their home and stayed there for the night. The next day they drove us home. They stayed for a couple of hours before returning home. I told my wife about the experience. I then went to sleep on the couch. I woke up at approximately 3 a.m. to see a hooded figure come from the entryway light fixture and float out to the end of the couch. I felt paralyzed as it crawled up my body. When it was directly over my face, I screamed loud enough to wake my wife from the next room. The figure vanished as she opened the bedroom door.
