Experience Description

I stopped to help at a car accident near my office. When I lifted a fallen street light from roof of one of the cars, I was seriously shocked by light pole.

I went flying backwards in air and was traveling at very high speed through a dark tunnel. As I was moving the spot of light at the end of the tunnel grew in size. Then, I was in a large vaulted room with rays of light with golden specks that were suspended in the air like large dust particles. I saw hundreds of people standing around me. My recently deceased mother and my maternal grandmother were with them. I looked them in the eyes and felt at peace. I was led from the room to the outside. It was like an open campus area in vibrant light. I was led to a figure sitting on a stone. The stone was an elevated throne with steps leading up to it. I received a message, but can't remember what it was.

Suddenly, I begin to fall rapidly through the dark. Below me, I could see a point of light that kept growing as I got closer to it. I could see it was a street light. I could also see my body lying face down in a pool of blood. I went from feeling light and in no pain to feeling heavy and in intense pain from my injuries. I rolled over and tried to get up. A security guard told me not to move.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Entirely pleasant

Did you feel separated from your body? Yes. I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. I had a fFeeling of euphoria and enlightenment. I was loved.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? Yes

Were your thoughts speeded up? Faster than usual

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning. Time sped up.

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. It was night time and after the accident it was well-lit with rays of light in the vaulted room.

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Yes It was dark in the tunnel as I watched the point of light approaching

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Yes I saw my mother and grandmother.

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes I saw intense rays that had golden-colored flakes that were floating around the rays

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I felt euphoria, enlightenment, and love

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes A figure sitting on a throne. I felt no fear while it addressing me

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? An afterlife definitely exists. I saw departed souls who were happy and gathered in a room

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life. Harder to relate to daily work-related tasks.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience? Occasionally I have seen a dark figure. Recently I saw it twice outdoors. I also saw it immeditately after my sister had just died.
